In theory this is done with heat, but it would generally need to be a very controlled manner to make the effect even. I would do several tests on some scrap 304 before i started messing with the actual exhaust tips (unless they were cheap). It may be difficult to reproduce this same effect...

I just rented the tool from Advance Auto (then broke two of the tools in the kit in the process). I gotta think that bashing the side of the steering knuckle with 10lb hammer has to create stress risers in the metal..... that didn't stop me from trying though before i got the tool. KRM

You can get the front ball joints from NAPA and you can get the bushings from Energy Suspension/Whiteline/Super Pro. You don't need to replace the whole arm if you don't want to. A lot of people just buy new arms with ball joints and poly bushings already installed because it's a PITA job to...

Apply grease? No, stock S13/S14 ball joints are not serviceable. Apply new, stronger ball joints (~$54 each at NAPA). Verify that this is the problem first though (although most older 240s could use a new set by now anyway). KRM

I received my Stance GR+ Pro coilovers today for the S13 :bigthumbu . I have heard people in the past speak about the rear mount bushing on the Stance being polyurethane (usually red in the pics). The ones i received today clearly have a rubber bushing? Anyone know anything about this...

When you're overheating, is your fan actually running and if so, is it running at capacity (poor ground and other electrical issues can cause them to run at less than full speed)? Do you have a fan controller? KRM
