N/A 2JZ swapped S14

pistons and rods would be a nice addition to a 2j build. if youre going to take the head off anyways why noy just build it? head gasket and studs are a given so you can keep that to yourself. the lexus j's are only reliable up to around 500hp on the stock bottom end. do you really want to push that limit and abuse he botom end with drifting? if it were me i would like to have peace of mind with a solid bottom end in my drift car. just because i'm new to the site doesnt make me a noob when it comes to 2j's. and by the way i like the tag buddy

correct me if i'm wrong but isnt the 2j in the first post the vvti one? but do notice i said RELIABLY. it would pretty shitty to put everything together and screw your bottom end just because someone says it can hold it. and i think most of the lexus 2j's were vvti, all of the ones ive seen had the three coils--designated that they were vvti.

i was just stating the info if turbo was your plan. staying n/a will still be better than swapping an sr

just lik PROVE IT said head studs an headgasket ( 2jzgte) an it will handle wht the 2jzgte will handle. Look on the supraforums an you will see. So its not because Im just saying it its because I KNOW.... the only diffreance in the gte block an the non vvti ge block is the oil squirts thank you

alright i've been looking around the internet and found this http://www.toysport.com/technical information/spec_sheet.htm aside from the accuracy note on the bottom, the chart sounds pretty legit. it makes sense that the n/a version will have a higher compression ratio than the turbo version, obviously to make more power naturally aspirated. i do understand that the GTE has oil squirters and the GE does not, that's one difference in the block itself. so yes you are right. but my question to you is: is the only difference between the two engines (oil squirters and head assemblies aside) the headgasket? if so then you have my apologies. but i have heard from many different people and sites that the rods and wrist pins are different as well. but again correct if i'm wrong.

the vvti 2jz is the engine with the weaker rods. The headgaskets are different one thicker then the other. the heads are different at the intake an exhaust bolts on the heads have different patterns an the compression is high on the NA head. But thats about it toyota did really change the engine that much.

thanks ninja, i may be new to the forum but it doesnt take long to see that there are immature little kids out there that like to talk crap over a computer. couldnt just have a simple discussion as santi and i had. either way back to the topic..

eric, idk if anyone told you but everyone here talks shit and truely they only do it to piss each other off, trust me i used to have the same problem but in person hes cool and a nice guy, you know who you are lol. btw im swapping 2jzge with a turbo in my s13, i havent found the turbo yet but im looking to buy new and not cheap :(

Eric G about the 2jzge look into daveH he is well know in the 2jz world for making the fastest 2jzge's if u want to see power. he did 8's on the 1/4 mile using a unopened GE block with 200*** miles on it to prove a point. just saying in all the 2jzge is a great swap an more people should do it to save the money an not blowing it on the 2jzgte.

santi, DaveH is a member here? where can i check all this out? sounds very interesting. ninja, sounds like a great swap. hopefully this will catch on to all the sr owners out there
