N/A 2JZ swapped S14

I've been pondering this idea for the longest time and it took some high school kid to actually have done the swap in his S14. I think this setup would be good for drifting due to having constant power and not boost lag. Share your thoughts please.

I think it's a great idea. Engines are fairly cheap to come by, great transmission choices, lots of aftermarket support, easily accessible parts locally, reliable, if you decide you want to turbo it later down the road you can make easy 500 on stock bottom end, cheap OE shim under bucket conversion if you want more RPM's. I think it's more like "Why not"

IMO, SR's suck. With a turbo they barely make what a N/A 2j does and with the N/A 2j you can run it all day without worrying about high oil turbo temps.

Doesn't it cost like around the same too?

I plan on doing this swap. If you get a motor in good condition it can be pretty cheap. Beware though cuz like me I got ripped off and found sludge everywhere. Rebuilding and cleaning a 2j even a na one with my Lexus discount isn't cheap. Now adays you can pretty much get a 1j pretty cheap with an r154. When you do the na 2j you can use the w58 but don't plan on make more than stock power. And by the time you find an r154 youre at 1jz prices

the car in the top of the page thats full lock and has green rear wheels thats barefootdrifter with a na2j

1995 Lexus SC300: 6.8 15.4 @ 92 mph 140 mph //Car and Driver

S14 w/ S13 SR R/T with basic bolt ons : 14.7 @ 97.82

SC300 weighs in @ 3600 lbs
S14 weighs in @ 2800 lbs +/-

There's a 800 lbs difference and i can only imagine what the S14 would make if it had a N/A 2JZ OR if the SC weighed as little as a 240.
