When MAFs take a crap they will go into a default mode to allow you to still drive. Think the limited is set to 2500 or 3000rpm tho. With issues like this at times I will get a quick clip with my phone and post it... Easier to explain the rattle sound.... Also another known common is the timing...

Was reading your original post again and it is kind of confusing. Is there another thread to your post? Doesn't mention what the car is and is not doing other then it sparked while installing your harness... So you have a good power source to the starter... Is it trying to start? Any click...

Check all fuses and the modules. Don't think you would have melted the wiring with a quick spark. Does the car start up without the turbo timer harness installed? Don't know if you are able to test it out since you were getting a new starter or not... You may be able to swap some of the...
