Moroso is Tore up!

My dream is to drift going 120 entry. :x

Or 120 exit.

Either way, it's crazy O_O

Maybe by the time the course is done I'll have my drift car done.

yeah id love to see you attempt that LMAO entry that fast into the first turn your into the wall and your gonna die. You can dream all you want cause it isn't gonna happen. I bet if you entered the first turn at 75 youd shit your pants

Well, the back straight to the big left at Moroso (the way it was set up before) was easy to get over 90mph when I drove Seans bmw. If it's now going to be banked a little like Estie says, you will see many people getting over a hundred in the entry.

If you guys are ripping on me because I say I hit 80 mph, whatever. I am just going with what my car was reading. And remember, when I was on the course, the tire barriers were well seperated where I can just full throttle the straight with no manji (cuz my car didn't have the power or speed coming off the last turn). So from the 40-45 mph from the last turn to the entry of the reducing radius sweeper, I know my car was at about 80. If not, really close. My car's speedo doesn't work, so I go by RPM. My car at about 7000 RPM is hitting about 78-80 mph. I'm sorry if I sound like a little prick that knows nothing about what I am talking about, but I am going with what I know about my car.

And if you weren't ripping on me about my entry speed statement, fuck it, I still stay beside what I say.:D

the first turn (using the drag strip entry) was easily able to go 80+ if you waited long enough to enter (first event setup) or started farther back, i was at atleast 75ish the first event but was pretty early with the flick.

the last turn after the back straight i dont think can maintain 80mph in it... maybe as your 'initiation point' but if you are entering on redline and then 'drifting' without slowing down some then you'd have no gear left to use and your wheel speed would match your cars speed = no spinning tires.... or you'd have to shift 4th.

*i hope they dont bank the first turn much if they do, I get enough of that at ovals, i want a normal road course plz.

This is true. I really should have shifted to 4th. That is probably the main reason why I wrecked. I came in too fast, and then I kicked the clutch. The car got sideways for a second, but then it switched back the other way and the I went into the grass, and into the tire barrier.

The dragstrip enrty wont be possible anymore since they are separating drag strip and the road course. road course will have similar entry into the same turn but will be tighter so your speed in the turn wont be as high.

^^^^Oh, kinda wack. Are they doing that so when there are events with both drag racing and drifting, the drifters don't have to change their course? If so, I applaud that action, but I still like the higher speed entries, even if I am not that good on them.

Harri, Do you have any idea how long it will take to complete the construction?

I think they are trying to bring the NHRA to Moroso, which would be sick. But I am happy that we can run our own configuration without having the drag racing screw it up. I like the fact that the run offs will now be paved, making it safer and easier to stop.

Also, I believe when they say that it will be back up and running this fall, because Moroso has many annual events in the fall that bring lots of money to the facility (5 Day Bracket Championship, All Ford Weekend, Citrus Nationals, etc.). On top of that, Moroso has a reputation to keep up. Moroso is a big track in this country, and when they say something, they don't play around about it.

I've been going to that track since I was 5 years old, and it's kinda sweet how I have drifted on it. Who knew 17 years ago? lol.

^ I can't beleive we are actually having events there because 3 years ago Moroso was only a dream

I remember that. I also remember a year ago, when we had our first event, they were so amazed at how our community responds with each other, and how we can benefit them. They were so happy with us, that they invited the advanced drivers to do demos at their own events. Moroso is the best track we have ever had in SFL. Possibly in all of Florida.
