FDC Gainesville, do u want it to happen?????

This is unrelated to this event, but Don and I were talking yesterday. He's considering mixing up some drifting with the tracks "Sunday Fundays." We had one yesterday, and it was pretty weak. His idea included setting up a K-wall enclosed area in the pits behind the stands and making a 2nd gear course with a few turns to connect. This isn't a sure thing, only an idea, but it could be something to look forward to next year.
 
Can i bring my 6 year old nephew along to ride shotgun with me?!??! He is crazy about drifting! I was supposed to take him to HIN in jax FL for the drift exhibition for his birthday but that whole event fell through. I told him i would take him to this drift event and hopefully he will be able to ride shotgun with me.

So can he? How can you deny a budding young difter the right to experience a bonafide drift on the pavement? He's ridden in my car doing some power over drifts, rally style, on his parents long dirt driveway. Ever since drifting hit the playstation, "Tokyo Drift" in the cinema, and his brief dirt drifting encounter, he keeps asking me when i'll take him drifting again.

So how's bout it? Can my little buddy ride shotgun with me at this event?

Dude, he's 6 years old. He's probably not even supposed to be riding shotgun in a car period. You got airbags?

i have a 5 year old son, no way would i put him in a situation where i could hit a wall at 50+mph...

and you're a fucking assholefor driving like you do with your son in the car like on dirt roads "power overing" or whatever it is you do...

do like me, and let you child watch daddy safely from the stands... take some inc ar footage to watch at home...


never put your kid in the car when you drive like that....











fuck, at least in your collectors edition of Tokyo Drift, the bastard kid was at least in high school...
 
There is no way they would allow that. Simply put, no insurance company could be okay with that. Minimum age to do anything at Gainesville Raceway is 16 with parents there to fill out a minor waiver form. We have Jr. Dragsters, but that's totally different.
 
Alex.....Stay on Don for the "Fun Drift day practice" whatevers!
That would be great for us local guys. Open it up I will make sure their is a good showing of Drivers from Jax, we are starving here for local practice. Even if it is low speed at first. Thos k-rails are doing nothing but holding the trees back!!! what a waste!

I had to hang off Dons back for months to make that happen on the road course, so, get him to do it in the P-lot and we will never have to worry about the awsome grass anymore! Git-r-done!

this may be so man but EVEN STILL, you were the one asking about taking him in the car on the course that WILL BE 70MPH on concrete/asphalt with WALLS and POLES.

most of us that drive track events frown upon street drifting in general LET ALONE with a child in the car.

if your going to ask a question that is easily going to have opinionated responses, don't expect everyone to be all sugar sweet about it.

hope you come out to drive and just let your nephew chill and watch.
