*Official Fitness Thread*

Probably should look up information but I figured I would come here and see if you guys could help me out. I am 5'10" 20 years old and I weigh like 220lbs. I am a fat ass and smoker. I am going to try and quit smoking but I wanted to know if anyone has a good plan for me to follow and not absolutely kill myself. I am pretty much looking for the beach body. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am trying to hit the gym tonight.

To you guys looking to bulk, I hope you're consuming a lot of carbs. Protein is important of course but too often ppl neglect their carb consumption during a bulking phase.

Once I get my cardio back to where it should be (I can barely jog a mile right now), I'm going to start bulking again. I have progressed a lot though. Last year my normal weight was 137lbs. For a year I worked out on and off, mostly trying to gain. Eventually I saw 159lbs. After a rough and hectic summer, I lost sight of gym activities but started back up 3 weeks ago. I kept a lot of my weight though - I walk around at 151lbs now. I'm looking to hit 160 by the end of November with less body fat than currently (you young guys are LUCKY). I'm 5'11" btw.

I'm goiong to start keeping up w/ my stats and post them for you guys. Usually my routine is:
Sunday - chest
Monday - cardio
Tuesday - back
Wednesday - rest
Thursday - triceps
Friday - biceps
Sat - legs/cardio

On sunday my chest routine was:
Warm-up on bench
Bench press
Cable flys on swiss ball
Incline dumbbell press
Dumbbell flys
Push-ups to fatigue

I try to knock off about 100 pushups (at 20 pushup intervals) a day just to keep the blood flowing and my muscles alive. I have a desk job so it sucks that i end up sitting on my ass most of the day but I feel like the daily random exercises help.

Sketchy564 - you're in boca. If you ever want to hit the gym, hit me up and I'll take you with me and show you the ropes. I can use a spot anyway. :0

I'll put some nutrition info in too.

Right now I'm supplementing protein a little more than I like to but I just don't have much time between work/school.

Usually on m-f
Breakfast:
ON Pro-Complex shake w/ 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, 8oz milk, 8oz water/ice, and 1 banana. I follow that up w/ a cup of oatmeal.

Snack:
Raw almonds and some string cheese.

Lunch:
Chicken breast in a salad (sometimes w/ eggs), other veggies, pasta or wheat bread or rice

Snack:
B/c of school, usually a double stacked 6" sub from subway, protein shake

Dinner:
lean meats and veggies

Before bed:
Bowl of cottage cheese or plain yogurt. I used to just drink a casein protein shake at night but they gave me terrible stomach cramps.

I also eat misc fruits throughout the day and take 1 fish oil tab at morning/night.

damn reading this makes me wanna get back in shape i did it for a while i worked in the deli and got up to 208lb then lost 40lb but then got lazy and gained back about 20lb being out of shape sucks!
 
If anyone lives in West Palm area. I have no problem letting anyone use my weights/machine and run with me.
 
So i just bought a bike. Im going to be riding every day for 1 hour. Some serious cardio. Also i suggest for you guys who are trying to loose weight with minimal impact on your muscles to use a elliptical and or do laps in a swimming pool. Swimming is a awesome work out.

i was going to start biking 1st, but id get lazy and peddel for a little then let the bike coast, IMO start running/walking and build up ur stamina that way when u ride the bike ur constantlt peddeling
 
Back in the saddle tomorrow.

Breakfast: 4 hardboiled eggs, half cup oatmeal, maybe whole weat english muffin with jelly.

Mid morning snack" Can of tuna and fruit (banana)

Lunch: chicken breast cup of veggies cup of brown rice.

afternoon snack: egg salad sandwich high protein bread.

Post workout: Shake with banana.

Dinner: lean beef myabe some cheese.

if I get hungry before bed I will east some toast and jam.

Workouts will be nice and easy for the first three weeks, then I will up the intensity and probably take in more shakes and add more protein to my diet, I will have to see how much I lose or gain weight wise.



Sounds like an old school Arnold routine. How long have you been doin this routine?

for about 4 months already since I joined ballys.

i start the pool tonight.. then some sauna and steam room.. lets see how long it takes for me to notice my gut getting smaller.

you in west or east boca? what gym?

anyways, you guys saw how skinny i am, any eating recomendations as far as what to consume?

im a really picky eater, so i hate fruits and veggies, but ill eat carrots with ranch, and ill eat apples haha

as far as protein, i like eating chicken, especially grilled, but thats pretty much it other than like cheese

and as far as consuming more carbs... wtf are carbs
im about to take my moms car and drive over to my dads house and use the bench and do 4 sets of as much as i can till i feel ill be screwed on the next one if i dont have a spotter. after that ill curls with 15lb dumbells... as many sets of 15 as i can

anything else i should do? he has a lat machine on the bench, so ill try to use that too, but i know you can work out your upper body every day as long as its different muscle groups... anyone wanna explain that?

also would it be a good idea or pointless if i started doing pushups as soon as i got home from my dads

Carbs are carbohydrates. And you need them before you work out/run, it will help with energy. If you don't like eating Steak or most meats (or don't like spending the money) Go out and get MUSCLE MILK from GNC. Shit tastes GOOD. And thats what I use to use a year back and I noticed pretty decent gains after a few months of using it. Just follow the directions on the bottle and have fun. PS- Vanilla is the best flavor.

Nah, Muscle Milk is good and safe. It's a blend of Protein and a teeny tiny bit of Creatine, along with some other ingredients. It's like 40bux for a 3week supply. And dont get swayed into buying CELL-Tech or Muscle Tech creatine shit. I've tried them, wasted hundreds of dollars and they all TASTE LIKE ASSHOLE. Just get Muscle Milk and you'll be happy trust me.

I've tried all the flavors of Muscle Milk and Banana and Vanilla are the best. But for long term drinking every day or so, Vanilla is the only thing I could stand.
 
I think the Muscle Milk was drink before and after, or morning and after work out. But I cannot remember it's been a while.

Im in east boca. I go to the planet fitness off palmetto just east of i95.

Don't get too caught up in diet just yet. You need to be exercising. Your body will respond with a hunger. As for nutrition, there is so much to learn, especially if you don't even know what carbs are. I'm not knocking you at all btw. We're all green at some point but you definitely need to do research on your own here. Tons of info out there. But I'm not a big guy - i really struggle to put on weight so I can relate to what you're going to go through if you really want to get in shape and bigger.
 
^lol. yo in my opinion if u dont like veggies and fruits ur fukd. cuz they rich in vitamin,minerals and are natural. in my opinion natural> stimulantes except for a little vmz which is vitamin b12,magnesium and zinc which help the body produce that manly hormone
