Foam filling chassis

The foam will help to prevent any distortion of the frame. It will take the shape of the frame rails at rest and resist any distortion from this shape, the amount of resistance it gives will depend on the density of the foam. I'm sure there is an ideal balance between elastic and rigid more in favor of the latter of the two so that its uses a maximum resistance without crushing because the foam will not eliminate distortion and will need to be able to return to original resting shape as does the chassis its self.

The foam will also absorb more sound from the chassis and road.

If I had the time I would do it.

if you are worried about crumple zones then you are already assuming foaming will have a very large effect on your cars rigidity.

yeah fuck it all... i just ordered it so thats it, its going down this weekend. haha.... to be honest im not to worried about the cruple zones. with all the big ass cars, trucks and shit running around here, i would rather have a car that will hold up better and not let me get crushed.

hahaha that's a good point, because when you pinched between two pieces of metal that are no longer wider than you are, the force they hit you with doesn't mean shit any more! I usually ride around with the full harness, because I drive like a jackass some times, haha and everyone else does all the time.
 
i want to buy a small import truck too, but just to have a truck so i can haul some shit every so often you know.
