    VLSD Question

The problem with just slapping a j30 diff in there is the abs sensor. It actualy extends the length of the diff which in turn pushes your driveshaft further into the tranny. Then the gaskets if worn even slightly wont seal properly and "may" cause a leak of your tranny fluid. The more worn the...

    VLSD Question

You would need the output shafts, actual vlsd AND the final drive from a 95/96 j30 diff. The Z32 diff output flanges would not fit properly due to the bolt pattern that connect the diff to the axles. I would recommend taking both diffs to a transmission shop and let them handle it. They'll be...

    Tranny whirr

I dont thing that would cause whinning from the diff but it wouldnt hurt to change that way you also check and see if you have shavings. ---------- Post added at 05:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:09 PM ---------- If the diff checks out fine, the only other thing i can think of is...

    Tranny whirr

Stock bushings? It could be bad bushings. A way you can test and see if its the bushings, get the car up to about 15mph, in 2nd gear and tap the accelerator repeatedly almost making it look as if the car is jerking around back and forth. If you hear rough clunking then you have bad bushings.

Is it a stock diff? If not, what diff is it? What bushings do you have on the diff?

    Can't move forward

Since the car can move in reverse, all the teeth of the differential most likely are all fine. Now if the car was a bit rough when initially getting out of first gear, that could just be a sign of a tranny fluid leak. If theres low fluid, and the cars cold, the fluid would have to get picked up...

    Can't move forward

Dude, did you check tranny fluid level? If the car idles fine and moves (though in reverse), and If you can put the car in gear with the clutch pedal pressed and the car still idles fine, then electrically its fine. It Its much more probable for actual mechanical problem within the tranny...

    S14 electrical problems

Ok, all fixed. Kind of a unique problem though. When I relocated my battery to the trunk, i put a power distribution in engine bay. Well the one port that i had the alternator wire to burnt out and melted the plastic housing, i replaced it w/ all fuses and all returned to normal.

    S14 electrical problems

Ok, this is kind of wierd. Never really heard of this happening before. Ok, car (S14) was running just fine except i had a small radiator leak so i decided to upgrade my radiator to an all aluminum radiator with a set of flex-a-lites which came out great.... But, now for some reason im...

RS-R Race Spring vs MeganRacing Lowering Spring

I completely agree coilovers are better than any shock/spring combo, but one thing is to pay $1000 for decent coilovers and one thing is to pay $135 for springs. Im completely satisfied with my current setup, they perform well, and still in good shape. Before i waste $1000 on coilovers I rather...

RS-R Race Spring vs MeganRacing Lowering Spring

Like I previously said, i dont have the money to for the coils now and im sure it'll take a while to save up. Now im completely satisfied with my current setup except for the fact it's so tall in the back. I have 17x9+19 wheels and there's an 1&1/2 gap between tire and quarter-panel. I...

RS-R Race Spring vs MeganRacing Lowering Spring

Allright, I was wondering if anyone has ordered the MeganRacing Lowering Springs for the S14/S13? I personally have the RSR Race Springs on KoniYellows and I love it, but it makes the car look a bit tall in the back. And I know, coilovers would resolve this but I can't afford it right now. Now I...
