LSD question

the tire wear the most, its enough alot of us have nasty camber wear already, i need some RUCA's. the noises as well, daily wise. I plan to stay vlsd until i can get a daily, hopefully before x-mas. Then welded it is :bigthumbu


and if i may ask hows the engagement? does it chatter alot off the whole ?? I have a stock flywheel resurfaced, i think may cause the chatter ? what flywheel you running ?

Thats your problem, after you get RUCA's you wont go thru anywhere near as many tires as before. I put mine on a few months ago now my tires last like 2x's as long maybe even more if I dont abuse them haha.

Mine is fine no chatter unless I dont give it gas really, Im using stock flywheel and pressure plate. But Im going to get another stock one resurfaced and swap that and a nice pressure plate and re-puck my 6 puck clutch. Oh but yea I also put a one piece driveshaft on not too long ago, I noticed my clutch seems alot smoother like no strain or anything on it.
 
If you're worried about your diff wearing out your tires it means you don't drift. So just get the cheapest stock lsd you can find. If you drift, you're gonna have different tires on like every week, so it don't matter.
 
Its your toe that wears tires out. Get RUCA's and Toe arms and you'll be good to go.

yeah i plan tio get full suspension.

see thing is, i run 17's for daily and 15's to slide due to price and how easy 15's are to find, 205/40-45/17 are a mission to find >.<
 
I just really hate welded for dailying, its so annoying, my 6puck clutch is already annoying so i cant imagine that and a welded diff, so vlsd it is for me for now.

clutch type LSD is pretty annoying. clunks like crazy and makes people look at your car trying to figure out what you broke. i wouldnt like to daily either. but cost wise, welded is badass.
 
i have nothing against it its great !!! welded are the best bang for the buck, but not for my taste as far as daily. ill stick to my nice vlsd

first it wont eat tires like a welded, second u wont crash while driving in the rain, a welded is very sketchy to drive on the streets, also 2 way is so much nicer to slide with so how about u stfu noob

It wont? My 2 way eats tires, drives just the same in the rain as a welded and sliding it is just like sliding a welded.

Why you ask, because its always locked... Just like a welded.
 
I just did the 200v (out of a 1991 300zx non turbo *preferred but not your only option). Only because it stayed within factory parameters while gaining LSD.

Requred Parts (all available at junkyards from what I found based on my budget of course. But always suggest buying new)
1995 (and before) I J30 axles with non abs LSD with 1993 and before 300zx non turbo axles are too wide for non abs s13. But the 1991 300zx VLSDiff as discussed previously does fit With J30 Axles..
, anything above 50/60$ per axle is ridiculous.
Make sure while you are there you grab the axle Nuts (x10), and carrier Bolts x2 (very important :D.)
For Differential you have a lot of options outside of what I am describing you can google a lot yourself.

Turbo 300zx diff has taller gearing and if you have a stocky little put put you arent going to be able to move it around as swiftly as your stock or non turbo lsd. 240's also came with lsds btw. OUTPUT SHAFTS, they are interchangeable, but when you open up your diff, if you arent a pro dont try and over invest yourself... next thing you know you are looking around for a machine shop for two weeks that will put your diff together if you break something.
 
this LSD thread has me more than confused.

legit info on this should be a sticky. it is towards drifting and what not.
