LSD question

i have a tomei 2 way diff and let me tell you its fucking boss ! you can beat a 2 way with a welded diff man and plus that shit is unsafe . :bigthumbu

1 way - locked under accel
1.5 way- locked under accel, some slip under decel
2 way - locked under accel and decel

im sorry you lost me lol wat do you mean a quick change rear end?

its a rear end that lets you easily change the gearing.

" A Winters quick change differential is used. The diff can change final drive ratios in just minutes and the car is geared to minimize shifts on a particular course. The diff has a 10.5" ring gear and is very strong, way stronger than the typical R200 Nissan diff which is important for reliability. The only mods FD allows to the stock rear subframe is to install a quick change or HD diff to avoid down time in the show. The diff uses a solid spool differential instead of an LSD. This is also becoming the norm in drifting."

^^ +1

Plus its cheaper than buying a kazz or tomei 2 way diff.
I think there stronger aswell since" from my understanding" they are designed for
like nascar an other types of 800+ hp applications.

I actually have a 2- way. I got a sweet deal and was able to run the turbo diff and axle setup on my Fc- welded is super rad unless you are winning FD events or like to push your car a lot while it's not running.

-Same as welded. Winning FD events. Suck it.

a couple people still use welded in FD, i know Matt Powers ran a welded when he was KA-T idk about now.

you have to buy the different gear sets. you open it, put in diff ones. close it. from what i understand the fluid will stay in the diff too. its literally a QUICK change.

wow that makes sense, and looks like it worked for alot of people, anyone on here done it ??

Yea I came across that a while back when I asked for opinions on VLSD vs welded

I got called a n00b because I didn't wanna do straight up welded for dailying... :bigthumbu

But that there ^^^ best budget option IMO

the shimmed thing is cool for a bit, but it will eventually ruin the diff. Just weld it, or get a real lsd or whatever.

I just really hate welded for dailying, its so annoying, my 6puck clutch is already annoying so i cant imagine that and a welded diff, so vlsd it is for me for now.

^Whats so annoying about it to you? Tire wear? Sounds comming from it? I have welded with 6 puck unsprung and a bunch of solid stuff, I think its better IMO lol.

the tire wear the most, its enough alot of us have nasty camber wear already, i need some RUCA's. the noises as well, daily wise. I plan to stay vlsd until i can get a daily, hopefully before x-mas. Then welded it is :bigthumbu

and if i may ask hows the engagement? does it chatter alot off the whole ?? I have a stock flywheel resurfaced, i think may cause the chatter ? what flywheel you running ?
