i've been thinking about using a(n N/A) vg30de in an s13, i've seen a few done just wondering if anyone here has seen any kind of nice naturally aspirated vg's out there...

i have a shop were i work on nothing but z32s and take it from me vgs are a pain in the ass and are stupid heavy! i would go vq on a 240 before a vg bro. but it is a good motor when properly setup and maintained. and since its not pushing around 3500+lbs itll make that 240 haul ass, just expect the driftability of the 240 to go down since most of the cars weight is gona be way in the front.

my whole thing is that it's a usdm motor i can get parts locally or within a reasonable amt of time, , considerably ok hp and tq stock , probably very reliable . and would move a bare bones 240 with gusto...i don't want to spend a bunch of time working out turbo bugs , routing piping and all that , the motor comes with a nice 5spd trans...i'd probably be able to keep the balance neutral-ish , i mean ...look at all the rb cars out there doing very decent.

honestly i'd love to have an sr20 but hate having to get all the little small things shipped and wait and deal with all the little hiccups that comes with the sr. i loved my sr,hated being late for work... dealing with stupid little shit .

and vgs are pretty cheap...

i was going to do the same thing but bills came up. If your interested contact metal and we can install it. I know almost everything you need.

"driftability" is bs... look at all the swaps in the 240... im pretty sure that the vg is not the heaviest swap into an s chassis! just look at anyone with an inline 6, all the people i know kill it, in fact even like the weight distribution better!

but keep in mind a v6 has alot more parts and is heavyer then an inline. also i think most of the v8s people put in 240s are alum blocks not iron. it would deff be one of the heaver motors droped into a 240. but if u guys are saying the extra weight up front dosent affect much then im going with that, i stand corrected. i dont know shit about 240 setups lol

the weight does affect it definetelly, i'm just saying that the balance may be able to be ok, think about how far i6's hang forward of the front axle. nevertheless , id love lo see what that would be like....you guys got any engine/trannys laying around u don't want? lol

yea my basis on the less driftability is that the motor is heavy on a z32 to begin with so on a 240 i would asume it to be a greater diffrence.

i got a blown block and a bunch of outer parts ps pump, alternator, mounts, ect.... clems got a tranny but im not super sure if hes willing to sell at the moment. my buddys got a tranny but he wants like 160 for it and wont budge. i also have a stage 3 clutch set up with light wight fly wheel that i had on my car for an na motor.

harvey just dosent know how to love his vgs like me and sal do :)
