sliding tire pressures

If you want to know a general rule of thumb, most people run ~5-10 PSI higher in the rear. Sometimes a bit more depending on the tire.. something I didn't even pay attention to until about a month ago lol. It makes a good difference though, you need to find your own needs and adjust the tires according to your setup.

what?

It varies on the tire, the track, the temp outside, everything.

I usually almost always start out at 45 cold and go from there. Almost always down, but everyonce and awhile it'll be that freak time that it stays the same cause I have so much grip.

cool thanks people. yea figured it be around that, i usually road race so just wanted to see what i ran compared to others

lol... foreal tho my tires were always at 38 with my potenzas.... soooo, i know i dont know much but when they were at 34 they chunked like a mutha in two runs at skid pad... at 42 they were burning real quick and i didnt see any improvements so i tried 38... lol, i might be sounding really stupid right now but i set em there and left em there!!!!!!

i use potenza run flats and i have 45 in the front and 50 rear. sounds crazy but they are 80 thread wear so they are stupidly gripy but they are thick as balls so they can handle the pressure and i still have plenty of grip in the front

not at alll bro.

like, tires are SOOOOO weird.
A tire will completely fall apart at one pressure, but go one pound up and it'll be perfect. haha.

45 in the front?!
holy crap dood. Thats insane.

My fronts stay at 28-30 psi cold. 235/40/17 Federal 595 SS. I was gonna run RT615's, but if it were to rain, I would be SCREWED!! I stay with the 595 SS tires up front cause they're pretty good grip, and sweeeeeetttt in the rain.

then this happened

then i started really paying attention to tire pressures...

i typically keep the fronts at about 35 psi coild, then like bearcat said start at 40 psi and adjust from there.

But i only do this at big tracks, i find that at the skid pad it barely changes.

well it didnt start at 80 i started that day at about 40-45 and that day there wherent that many people at fara and two people broke down, so it was like half the time of me and bert doing pretty much back to back runs... until the tire blew, the one that didnt blow was at 75 psi at the end of almost and 40 minutes of straight back to back runs. It was the temperature that did it.

I never checked the pressure until the end.

I run like 35 up front and usually start around 35 in the back.
