Free Beer To Anyone That Can Get My Car To Start

it ran with the old sr injectors but not with stocks. somewhere in the process of doing what you recently you messed something up. go back over everything you recent did and make sure things are good. also u sure you didn't plug the new plug wires in the wrong spot

gonna think as hard as i can and see what i can come up with...
Not sure if this makes a difference but when i had the old SR's in, i was still attempting to run the KA turbo'd w/ the T25, mani, and all. All i did was:
-switched out the SRs for stocks (stocks came on stock rail too. SRs were on KA rail).
-Unbolted Turbo Mani, Turbo, DP.
-Took out dizzy due to a cracked Timing Chain cover, got new cover, put in dizzy myself....not sure if there's a certain way to line it up or if it matters but i tried my best.
-bolted valve cover back on
-i was missing 2 spark plugs (front two) and spark plug wires so i went out and got both (2 new spark plugs and Duralast Wires). hooked them up.
-bolted on stock headers
-i switched the complete ignition cylinder w/ my coupes ignition cylinder. my coupes ignition cylinder was messed up, (you had to do the put key in ON position and touch the metal contacts on the left of ign. cylinder to get spark/crank trick). so i switched it w/ the one in this car but like i said, even though its messed up, it was still able to start my DOHC coupe plenty of times.

besides all that... i can't remember anything else i did...

oh and i got a brand new battery from walmart...

maybe the vacuum line that ran to my BOV has something to do w/ it?
i know have it recirculated into a blocked of EGR thing by the intake mani.

there u go, u said u Removed the dizzy ur timing is prob way off, google how to set the timing and make sure the motor is at tdc on the compression stroke

sooo... bad time = motor won't turn on at all? damn never knew this... gonna get on that right away. check back in a bit.

if it's wayyyy off it wontt start for shit, cyl 1 tdc, point rotor right before cyl one plug wire and that should be enought to startit

probably a really stupid question, but how do i know which way the rotor is pointing? I thought the rotor just slid into the timing cover...

wow just search on the internet. it'll show u how everything need to look like

If you know how to do it, then tell him, what the fuck do you think he's doing by asking that question on a forum full of 240 enthusiasts? He's searching on the internet douche.

It's going to be your dizzy. Get a timing gun. I had downtime for almost a month thanks to that little problem and all symptoms sound the same. I don't remember if there was a notch or a little red mark but that's how you point it. Ronch, help me out here.

^but you cant set your dizzy using a timing gun if the car isnt running in the first place right?

right. the easiest way is gonna be to take off the valve cover. turn the crank until its at 0 and the cam lobes are pointing outward. From here you can go two ways. put the distributor in so that when you put the cap on, the rotor faces #1, or you can go to 20 btdc and set the rotor on on #1. (this works best if you dont have a timing light). if you go with the first route hook up a timing gun and start the car. set to 20btdc.
ps dont forget to put the valve cover on

ur stupidity ceases to amaze me, op don't listen to this guy

what u want to do is remove spark plug one
then rotate crank while covering the spark plug hole and feel/hear the air rushing out, this is the compression stroke
now u wAnt to rotate the crank till the nrddle onthe block points to the second line(from the left) on the crankshaft pulley, thAt is TDC
now install the dizzy with the rotor facing right before where spark plug wire one goes
should start right up

That's foken funny right there. Listen to Ronch. There's no need to remove the valve cover.

Also, I like Guinness extra stout, but if you can get ahold of some Guinness special export then I won't complain.

thanks for understanding my complete noob-ness at this. I'm just the type that likes to know EXACTLY what he's doing before doing anything at all, if not, shit usually goes wrong or mysterious problems arise. And sounds like my downtime was just like yours.
Got the car to start once now but i had to constantly give it gas to keep it alive it wouldn't even idle.

i want the beer

hmmmm...

so if what u guys tell him works, his he still buying u all beer or only one of u.....hmmm

beer was for anyone that was willing to physically come by my house and help me get this thing running. Virtual popcorn for the rest though :corn::corn::corn:

gonna try this. now if only walmart sold 27mm sockets...

Thanks for all the help homies. Knowledge is great!

one thing i just want to add. when the pistons coming up and air is coming out it could either be the compression phase or the exhaust phase. a way you might be able to tell the difference is on the compression phase the air pulse should be considerably stronger. make sure that when you are turning it with the wrench that you turn it with all the spark plugs out(this makes it 10 times easier to turn) and turn with a consistent speed. gl

quick update.

i haven't been able to start the motor since last night when i barely got it to start once.

my mechanics been messing around with the dizzy. not sure what he's doing since i have no knowledge on dizzy settings or anything. should i just try setting it to TDC and pointing the rotor right before spark plug 1 and see how that works out?
