Lens Decision...

Well All This Would Have To Put On Hold, Since Some Lady Today Decided It Would Be Fun To Get Into An Accident.

or do what im doing....

1d mkIII
16-35 2.8
50 f1.2
70-200 f2.8 IS
300 f2.8 IS

FIXED The whole range you'll ever need. Also be prepared to sell both your kidneys and maybe your liver for that setup. A little under 14k. This also doesn't inlcude lights for off camera shooting or back-up bodies.

But on a serious note your going to have a hard time finding a good walk around for under $250 that performs well. Also its really hard to do photography and automotive at the same time unless your a baller. Its usually one or the other as you can see from my super sweet dream setup.

quoted for truth. im itching for the 18-135 that comes with the d80, it would be the perfect walk around lens

what i said would be used for what i do, i have no need for a 300 or a 70-200 on a fullframe camera

i have a back up body, and the lighting equipment i need. so what i stated is what im getting

As soon as I read your post I thought 50mm 1.8. It's cheap as hell, great quality pics, strong build (Well I'm talking about the Nikon 50mm, dunno about the Canon ones). So yeah.....

or do what im doing....

5d mkii
24 1.4L
50 1.4
16-35 2.8

ah, I heard you were selling out

How is it that you sell out right after Anderson and with the same set up. Maybe its a D80 thing? both of you had D80s and now you are both switching to 5Ds mkII? I dunno you guys suck.

but w/e good luck with new pick up

its cheaper to make the switch to canon

unlessssssss

nikon drops the d400 soon, and hopefully it will be fullframe and cheaper then canon, but i really dont see it happening

I'm just fuckin with you dood calm down and like I said its MY dream setup. I use the mess out of a 70-200 at weddings and would do the same at drift events and same thing goes with a 300mm if I had one. Just don't have over 4k to drop on a lens.

FAL the canon 50mm's build quality is shitty. I hate the AF on it. Its slow and loud. Only good thing is its cheap. I personally hate the range of it. Its so odd for me. I do love the 85mm on my crop body.

the only nikon lens i envy is the 14-24/2.8, badass lens. other than that ill stick to my Canon & PC setup, nikon and apply just dont do it for me, personal preference but it seems to be the pattern with canon and nikon shooters.

^^ at times I wish I had the commander mode. I do a few shoots indoors so it wouldn't be to bad to have. As far as lens line-up they have the 10.5mm but thats about it for me. 16-35f2.8 is about the same focal length on a FF body as a 14-24 is on a crop body.

14-24 on a crop body is 22-38...
