Well I am getting my car ready for drift/autocross and planning on using whats worked in the past when i was FF...

95 Zenki

Motul 600RBF (DOT4) Brake fluid (I don't have ABS)

and Royal Purple Syncro-mesh for the trans.

I also have a J30 diff and wanted to know what fluid i should run in that as well

just curious to see what some of the regular drifters here are using, as i am sure higher temperatures are reached when you drift as opposed to autocross. Also, what tie-rods do you recommend? Right now I am on coil-overs, and have Cusco Front and Rear sway bars, was thinking of getting the Cusco adjustable tie-rods, and beefier end-links on the sway bars as well.

ikeya formula innners. Spl outers. I always like and run redline for my gear oil preferences. And i run ate super blue for brake fluid.

I have no idea why everyone has begun swinging on SPL tie rods nuts.

I would not waste my money on them, id just go with the Tein inner/outer combo.

Was thinking more along these lines

^SPL backs thier products very well

good to know that. most companies don't. I just love quality products, and ran cusco stuff on my last car no problems and i beat that car to the ground. did numerous events but never drifted.

ohhh chet OOF!

Any of those heim style tie-rods are more susceptible to breaking, especially when bump-steer correction is used.

SPL has had numerous versions of their rod ends, always improving on the previous.

Their customer service is top notch - if you break it, they will replace it.

That said, ask yourself what relative advantages do heim tie rod ends offer over a standard balljoint (like OEM or Tein). Bumpsteer correction is all that comes to mind. SPL recommends not using bumpsteer correction in drifting applications. Let that sink in.

So again, I pose the question as to why everyone has all of a sudden made it a requirement to switch to heim outer tie rods? Especially at $230+ for outers alone!

If you're going to get them though, buy from either SPL or Peak Performance. I like the Peak Performance ones better - integrated bump steer correction and Aura heim joints.

i kno this is a old ass thread but i jus traded for some tein inners (z33) and i wanted to know what options do i have for outers is it as easy as goin to advanced auto and pickin up some outers or am i limited to the types i can use???? please help pplz
