VFMEDIA.TV - King of Countyline VIDEO

Nice vid but videos of cars sitting still are extremely boring. :boring: has a AWOL feel to it. You used the same shot a few times as well. Like to see what you could do at a motorsports event. Do you have any? Doesn't have to be drifting just not a car show.

Usually meets/car shows are parked cars.

I do film other things though feel free to look around on my youtube.

yes

True, but did he have a choice in the subject matter? I mean if the event was nothing but parked cars one can imagine it might be hard to get moving car shots?

or maybe its just me...

I figured he didn't have much choice, that was kind of obvious but I was just wondering if anything else was all.

or maybe its just you

I like this vid you did, its pretty awesome. Its not even so much about parked cars vs cars racing as it is capturing the whole scene i think. You did a great job here.

Who gives a shit. The dude went out there, and made a video of the event. Bsaint all youve done here on this forum so far, media wise, is post a video that you made a year ago and post other peoples work. And as for you Evo all you have done is gone around and try change other peoples stuff and post some video that you claimed you spent hours trying to stablize but didnt really do anything to try to keep the image quality up to par.

I initially commended his work, I commented on the similarities and possible replications after two other members laid claim to that fact. I know Andrew's work pretty well because thats how I taught myself when I first started. So I recognized it immediately. Did I bash him? no. Did I say you should give credit for it? Yes I did, because thats what I was taught.

Change other peoples stuff?

I offered Sweet Motion help on a 3d logo or intro or whatever for free because it goes in my portfolio, which anyone in the industry knows, makes a difference in the long run. We are both on the same page and have been passing PM's throughout the past few days.

I asked Ben permission to do a logo for any future videos I do so I could plug SFLdrifters in with it. He complied.

I offered Last Stance and got a maybe of sorts to help them if they wanted it.

I did that video with a shitty Video Camera that shook the whole fucking time. I can send you the AE projects and the Sony Vegas files so you can see the amount of motion tracking I had to do to keep it level. If there is an obviously easier way to fix shakiness I don't know it, I'm self taught up to that point and did the only way I know how to fix it. If you want to educate me I'm open to critique and advice, never said I wasn't. Feel free to shoot me a PM

But for you to say what you did pretty much gets a "Go fuck yourself" in my book.

Yeah :\ I vouch this statement. He was nice enough to go out of his way and offer help in any way possible to us, even though we never asked anything from him. Evo you rock :bigthumbu

All of your logo designs could of been handled through email and/or pms. I really have nothing personal against you cause i dont know you, but by you posting the designs on the forums kinda makes you look a little desperate for attention. As far as the video, i never really messed with ae but the isnt the overall theory get it right in the camera, so you have to edit less. at least thats the way i try it. and if i have questionable or just overall bad footage, i dont really mess with it unless im toying with something. but in the end i usually end up deleting it anyway. if you took it the wrong way, i apologize

Yea agreed but i think the point he is trying to make is he hasnt done any video of a motorsport event of cars movie.

Im pretty sure there are many in his area

THANKS EVERYONE!!!!
I wont stop improving and makimg better videos..and making sure Countyline gets the Recognition it deserves for its Grassroots

Its really helps when you shares the video where ever you can

I'm not sure where to start on this. If you don't feel like reading this in its entirety, it basically says people need to stop being hypercritical and chill the fuck out. I'm also not responding directly to anyone or quoting. This is a general statement. Mainly because I'm too lazy to be proper...

First of all. Where on any of the sites that were sourced from say you must give credit or anything of the sort? They are considered donations to the community. Even if you pay for them they still are not required. Sure it may be something most people do but it is not required. All Personal Preference. Movies have every person in it credited and waivers signed... does anybody do that? HELL NO. It's all non profit.

Now If he was charging per view or selling as a DVD then that's a different story...

I have absolutely used Video copilot tutorials, and even re-created the same exact clips they show. It's all good practice. Is that wrong? Not at all, I could be retarded but I could have swore that is the reason they put them up? and it's exactly why they make templates for people to put their own text in? Maybe I missed something with that...

And Please one of you go open, lets say AUTOCAD(assuming none of you know how to use it.) and create me a simple, everyday, ordinary spoon in 3D. WITHOUT looking at any tutorials or instructions, or asking anyone how to do it. Pretty hard right? Meow go look up a tutorial and do it... Pretty easy right?. Now you could probably branch off into other stuff right?

Now if you take longer then I do to create the exact same thing then I am going to tell you it doesn't count because there is no way it takes that long to make a simple spoon...

Now why does it matter how long it took him to edit the intro? There aren't time limits. Everyone has a different pace of learning. Geez.

And nobody has to have done something, in order to criticize someone else. If something looks like shit, they are allowed to say it does. It's all an opinion. What you decide to do with their critique is up to you. Just because someone hasn't done what you have, or had to deal with the shitty quality, or shakiness, or overexposure. Doesn't mean they can't blatantly see it. And call you out on it. ESPECIALLY when you ask for criticism.

All of my shots used to be shaky and overexposed. People kept telling me. So I tightened that shit up!

Now as for the actual video and not the BS taking place after.

Video was good in general.

Was a bit shaky. I could tell you used warp stabilizer on the chase scene but you could have used it on a few other scenes and done a lot of good. Especially the scene after the chase with Rodd hiding(standing normally) behind the barrel.

@1:05 Holy tits.

I can't remember what you shoot with, but I'm pretty sure it's Canon?

I will HIGHLY Recommend a LCDVF. I bought one and was very skeptical but I can tell you it has been the best investment I have made besides buying the camera itself. Helps tremendously with the shakes and also help you focus quicker and more accurately.

I have the CarrySpeed one. Got it on Amazon I think. It's cheap enough to where if you don't like it, it isn't going to be a regretful waste of money(20 bucks). However you do feel kind of weird using it. Especially with the 50mm as people always seem to thing you are holding the camera backwards? Idk lol

Also I rented a fancy Zacuto Z-Finder pro and I didn't like it compared to the carryspeed one. At least not for the price difference.

Also Something that would help your shots tremendously is some better glass. A shallower DOF would really set some of your shots off. Just try renting a lens once. There really is a huge difference in quality. If you need any help picking something out just hit me up!

And the thing that pisses me off more than anything. Especially lately now that everyone and their mothers are filming these days. Nobody is better then anyone else. Everyone is always learning and improving. Some people need to get off their high horses. This isn't a competition. We all do it for the same reason. Have fun with it.

Kris this is exactly what i am asking..you hit the spot and told me exactly what i should improve on to be a better videography i REALLY APPRECIATE the long post and you actually took the time to write.

I actually did buy a viewfinder i just didnt use it on most shots yet im trying to get used to it . I definitely need to try and stabalize my shots

Yea i was thinking about using the warp stabilizer on more shots but sometimes it makes it seem like less quality because of the tiny shakes or it may just be me.

Also how is the quality of the video i tried out a different export setting because of your heads up from my last video

Again thank you for the criticism

I understand that most of us film and edit what I think is called "amateur- advance videos" meaning that we know a little bit of what we are doing. This being the case, I have been taught ( through my school and career that naming your sources is ALWAYS done. I have made the mistake in the past to not list the credits in the videos I have posted on the net, but I try then to leave them in the description, I think at its most basic form its common courtesy.

As have I, alot of my AE knowledge came from them, aside from school. They place them there for tutorial purposes, THEY also SELL THEM. The same exact ones you see on their site for free are also sold. Fine their templates are for others use, again common courtesy/ sense would dictate one to say " hey I made this video and edited some effects on this template, but I shouldn't call the vfx part my own work".

And Please one of you go open, lets say AUTOCAD(assuming none of you know how to use it.) and create me a simple, everyday, ordinary spoon in 3D. You know what they say when you assume right?? Yes I know how to use cad. ( Im not a genius and its been years since I used it, but some of us do know) What I stated was that OP ( and again I think me and op are on same terms now that everything is clear so I don't mean to kick the sand again) What me and others were stating was that the 15 hour vfx/ video work log seemed sketchy, since the intro looked like copy/pasta. To me it sounded like " OMG look at all my hard work, I spent 15 hours slaving to make these particles look identical to that tutorial down to the same color etc.." you get where I am going. It sounded a bit cocky for work that looked like a copy.

And nobody has to have done something, in order to criticize someone else. If something looks like shit, they are allowed to say it does. It's all an opinion.

(Here is my issue, critiques arent supposed to be opinion, they are supposed to be facts stated. " hey the proportions you drew this female model are incorrect", or " hey the video footage is not very stable, you wight want to tighten up the shot" etc. I think that "opinions" like " ohh I dont like the color blue, when you are looking at a painting of the sea" are just that opinions and are just reflecting THAT persons individual feelings toward something. Instead of actually saying " they that boat in the sea you painted looks like a spaceship..is it supposed to look like that??"

Maybe its just me but this is how I was taught to critique other peoples work....but to each his own...

What you decide to do with their critique is up to you. Just because someone hasn't done what you have, or had to deal with the shitty quality, or shakiness, or overexposure. Doesn't mean they can't blatantly see it. And call you out on it. ESPECIALLY when you ask for criticism.

I dont think the majority idea was attacking ops video footage. It was "I" believe 90% on the use of template and saying he worked on it for 15 hours while it looks identical to the tutorial....

I would like to thank you for specifying which VF you use, since I have been looking for one (since I posted my videos and everyone was saying to get one) and the carryspeed one looks good for the price :D

^ I dont see how anyone started measuring cawks on this thread...But you still make a good point, we all do this for the fun and the lolz.
