^^^^^^ what he said.... the only reason you should get a 2 way is if you have the money and want to spend it. other than that just use a welded. but if you wanted something that locks very well and you can also do time attack then spend the money and get a 1.5.

if you can find one...and have lots of $$$

I know Tomei diffs use ceramic clutches to help with streetability and noise reduction.

I really like LSD's but I dont think its gonna matter what brand you buy because they all work great and the differences between them is price only. I doubt any one on this board would be able to tell the difference between a Tomei, KAAz or a nismo. The only one i tink would feel different would be a Carbon LSD but then again ive never driven on one.

Huh?

If you buy a 2 way, you bought a 1.5 way at the same time. If you're man enough to disassemble it to change the config for either event is up to you.

Totally false.

To my knowledge, neither Tomei, nor Kaaz (the maker of Tomei diffs) or any other LSD manufacturer offer a diff w/ceramic clutch plates. You might be confusing Carbon for Ceramic. I think the only company's doing carbon diffs are Carbonetic (used to be a division of ATS) and maybe OS (I think).

I don't think Ceramic would lend itself to usage as LSD clutch plates, its too brittle of a material. The grinding, and shock loading would turn the plates to powder.

P.S. I have a Tomei, it works fine.
