I noticed that also. Even though I dont live in SFL anymore, back in the day before I moved (June of 07 and a year before) EVERYONE were at the events. Pro-am and beginner all there sliding for fun and somewhat of expression. And I used to want to go back to SFL because the scene was just awesome, but now seeing where it is going, and going to my first few AZ events this weekend, I see how much more oppertunity there is over here, and not saying that AZ is better than SFL, but if everyone in the scene down there would show support and spectate events (despite if its raining or humid as balls) THEN sponsors would show and look for potential drivers. The spectation in AZ is beyond redictulous, and thats why we have mad sponsors at events looking for dedicated drivers, because all of the events are hyped up like a sum bitch (like pat said). If everyone didnt flake on FDC, SFL and probably all of florida would be a huge drift spot like Cali is. It doesnt matter about if your car looks like shit, thats just icing on the cake, but if you have skills and a steady following, your good.

Moe and the major guys on this forum (AK,HK,Jason,Will,jermey and dan) are trying to get everyone to take a 2nd look at the SFL scene, and they cant do it alone, and that goes back into event spectation. Its a double standard: Spectators = Events ; No spectators = No events.

Time to choose up.

Too bad that the owners of PBIR don't like drifting. It destroys the "special" asphalt that costs a lot of money.

Well said Doug, and AZ scene is stronger. For that fact it seems like the local support is better everywhere other than here. That would explain why most major/pro events come no further south than Georgia.
 
Hell in manning SC they are basically building us a purpose built skid pad just for drifting.

I mean shit south carolina's hick ass state is chopping florida up right now. Events every month in myrtle beach, cash payout tandem comps, 6 event championship with 1-3 place champ payout. Team tandem comps.

Its bc fl is a peninsula with a dispersed cluster of cities. SFL events are for SFL people only, which is basically 1 county with a few from another county and 1 or two from 1 or 2 more counties. Its hard to sustain an entire scene with the support of 1 county.

Again alot of good points in this thread along with alot of the other recent threads.. we all know what we have to do and what would make the scene in Florida better. But few step up when it's time, and also because of what Tonymac said. I wonder if it'll ever get as big here as in cali.

who are you...... this guy is like the brave heart of drifting here.... and to bearcat (pat is it?) what would it take to get a fairgrounds event again... or not specifically to bearcat but to anyone who may know...
 
SFL is a party place not a drifting place.. it'll never blow up down here. sorry but its the truth... want sponsors?? take up jetski racing

lol thanks im just really exited to get back into drifting its bin over 6 months since i slide my car at skid pad so i havent event got to test my jic coilovers and im dying to get back out there with you guys hopefully i can get to the point were i can tandom :D
