O well. I guess that as ter-tech helps out to make this POSSIBLE, we have to help advertising and finding people to drive. I'll look into putting fliers on the fau and pbcc parking lots and have my brother tackle fiu and um. I pre-reg much before the dateline and have been daydreaming about this event and making preparations since :(

we dont need to find more drivers.. we had over 30 drivers already

wow, just wow.
Harri seriously though u guys have been one of the biggest contributers to getting drifting where it is in south florida. I really hope you guys dont totally give up on planning events. That would be a great loss to our community. If this truly is the end of ter-tech events then u guys KICKD *** while you could, and will go down as a founder of drifting in florida! Thank you for all the events that we have had. I have loved them all. Thanks again

Well, there has to be a solution to this. It seems that the problem is that people don't preregister on time. As someone said already they had the 30 drivers, I'm sure there would be a decent amount of people there watching (I would've been there for sure one of those days) but more advertising wont hurt like someone mentioned before going to colleges would work also try to find other places "car guys" meet up.

The only thing I can think of is setting a pregister deadline about 1-2weeks before the event and have a few extra spots for the people who signed up late with a penalty(paying a little more or something). This way people would be motivated to get the money in earlier and the few people who are late can still participate. The company holding the event (i.e. Ter-Tech) would know way in advance if they can hold the event or not.

You guys can shot holes in my idea if you like but I'm just throwing something out there, it might spark an idea in someone else's head. As far as Ter-Tech goes I have a lot of respect for you guys and you guys are founders of South Florida Drifting and I'll never forget that. I couldn't think of anyone one better.

I was looking forward to going to the event I only found out about it Sunday night so I did not have time nor cash to plan for actually driving in the event but I was going to go and watch then drift in the next event :(

thanks again... slackers... Seems the people who actually give a **** get owned by procrastanators. Well back to the old days.... Live to slide on the street....

i dont know if this will make more people pre-reg earlier or not reg at all.. i knew there was something wrong from the very beginning when Ter-Tech mentioned Gymkhana :p

i guess it was really a surprise that everyone waited for the last minute to pre-reg.. seeing as for just about every event it has been this way... maybe they just wanted to go to Atlanta instead ;-)

No dan you are just wrong again

Dude it was just as Harri said too many things at once. Even when the event was changed from october to nov. 19th - 20th there was barely any pre-regs dude SFL is not a well organized district. And I don't mean just the automotive viewpoint it's everything, remember when nobody could get gas and would have to miss work, stay home with there kids, and miss work, fix there roofs and miss work. All those things cut down our cash flow and our priorities change a bit. Ter-tech tried and Wilma, FPL, US gov't. mixed up the whole last two months. Hey if nobody wanted to go then nobody would've pre-regged. The effort was there just not organized thats all.

And Guillermo I hear you on that one my broke *** has been on that track for a while now.

Nelvis brings up a good point. I'm with him on this one, I didn't think about that way. Even after all the things that happen as Nelvis mentioned (Hurricane Wilma, FPL, no gas or power for days/weeks, etc) We still managed to have enough drivers and I'm sure it would've been a decent turn out spectorwise. I dont think many states would've gotten this close if they had multiple obstacles to get through. The love and passion for drifting is here, the talent is really rising also. We just need to find a way to motivate people to preregister earlier. That seems to be the only reoccurring problem for each event. Find a solution to that and there will be more events and less drama.

That's just not even funny because its so0o far off from the truth. I myself and Santi both signed up for that competition independent from Ter-Tech. After informing Harri of the competition, he decided to sign up JUST IN CASE the event didn't work out. Since it didn't, its ATL time for him too. He was willing to lose the $60 from the other event if the Ter-Tech event were to take place.

Man this sux....I was busting my *** this whole week with the budget of a circus monkey to try and get my car ready..... i guess i'll put that $100 into some new things i need for my car. thanks for trying anyways!

I do not have the knowledge or resources to go after it all myself either, but if I can go after something I will. Considering I could find a small group of people with enough interest to go after everything needed to hold an event, I would gladly put time and effort to make it happen.
If you guys are willing to be represented and aren't offended by constructive criticism, I would be willing to help. Ter-tech has done a lot for South Florida I'd hate for them to have bow out because of finances and support. I'll start a thread.

ooooh okay.

well from a professional stand point, I don't think that pre-reg should have been even open to begin with if there was not 100% going to be an event unless of a hurricane or some other serious issue where the track owners cancelled out of the deal. but then again what do I know, I'm just a little boy in this big big world

My thoughts::

I'm in shock. I seriously thought we had it in the bag.
Its so unfortunate with all that we went through, how
we came so close, but yet so far. So many things came into
effect as we know, but if we could of pulled just a little bit
harder and get everything together earlier, we would
we sliding this weekend. I really don't blame ter-tech at all.
They have been puttin it down since the get-go, and brought
us awesome events. They bend backwards and deal with
companies to get these events. Its only fair that we meet
them half way and show our appreciation and pre-reg early.
Its more important than we think.

Its awesome to see people helping eachother to get their money
situations together, cars ready, or anything at the last minute to get the
event up. Its obvious we have the desire to expand our drift community.
Helping eachother and learning from one another to progress
not only in drifting, but in life is what its all about. These events
allow us to assemble a time to share and express our passion of
the sport and feed off eachother to push our skills to the next level.

Not to mention its more fun without worrying about cops, because
its legal. For those who love to experience that and want to keep enjoying
it should take this as rude awakening or a lesson to be learned.
We don't have to worry about drifting on the streets and dodging the
police if we work smarter and not harder. Lets take this opportunity to
step up as a community and pull together to gain strength in numbers.

I'm serious about drifting and putting south florida on the map.
I know a few people that have the same vision and are willing and devoted
in taking the ball and running with it. Nothing great in life comes easy.
Who ever believes that "anything that is worth wanting, is
worth working for"
is welcome to join this movement to
revive our drift community.

IMO, pre-reg shouldn't have been open so long at all...if I were running the events, I'd have the pre-reg cut off date 3 weeks to a month ahead of time. If people don't register, the event would get rescheduled. Simple. Regardless, I'm sure you don't know exactly what happened this time around so I can see how you might be upset or let down. I would explain the whole situation, but it's not my place to do so unless Harri asks me to.

Freaking crap! Right when I was coming back down, i wanted to see some drifting. Then this happens! Whatever, SFL needs to get the scene back. I need to move back down.
