but yea i hear to win this event you need to pretty much alwready have a built car, and sponsors.

so eaven if your ripping the shit outa the sponsored drivers, they have a 95%better chance to win. because of flashy kits and huge stickers. not skilll. ghey ghey ghey.

if you dont have connections with the right peeps already, you need to do 2X as good as people who do to get noticed, and do 3X as good to beat them.

Not like you have a chance either way.......E-thug

F31 boy.. whoever told you that you can drift a front drive lexus lied to you. and by the way id rather see show cars than a race car anyday. showcars take so much harder work to build and get to perfection. i just moved down south and am already sick of you posers!!

yall will see a real car this Sunday bitches. Can you say Type R front end on a EK coupe??

not fwd, not a lexus, shows how much you know about cars, its an m30.

this post is good, if its a joke...

type r front end on a coupe? gay...

no one will look twice at your car at this event, sorry bud.

Well if this is in anyway projected at me, I would have to say I have put in so much effort into car development and track time (nearly 20 events last year) and actively trying to make my car out so its attractive to those sponsors by wasting money on paint and kits, I feel its unfair to say what you are saying. I don't want an unfair advantage in a competition, but you can't expect to go on national tv in a beat up car and have the public take drifting seriously. I don't think you are really directing it at me, but either way, knowing that motorsports is a package deal and not just driving ability (although it is sad to say that) is why a LOT of people aren't driving when they are capable.

I know I have a rep going but it took me a LONG LONG time to build up respect given how long I've been 'in the scene'. Either way, I'm not worried because I know I can drive pretty well, but I know slideways-for-5 is no joke. There are plenty of people that are good drivers in Florida.

I'll be happy with driving IRL without getting the TV show deal too, I just want to drive, because I simply f*cking love it.

Whole idea of this event is to help you guys get sponsors there for you do not need anybody to sponsor you or your sister, to win the event. Statement is a total LIE.
Second your car can look like horses ass all we care, but after the event and before the IRL you do need to clean it up, if you don't understand the fact that the sponsors that you will get from this event require your car also to look nice, not just drive good, it is time to stop pursuing drifting as a professional career.
This is NOT A FORMULA D EVENT.
And to say 95% better chance to win with stickers and flashy kits is just ridicilous the cars appearance will effect maybe 2% of one judging criteria which is overall appearance (aggressiveness, crowd impact, smoke etc...). other judged areas are speed (checked by radar), Angle and driving line.
And mark my words if you are ripping anything to the sponsored or stickered cars you will win. ghey ghey ghey ghey and one more ghey just for the hell of it. LOL
My point "relax and drive the shit out of your car"
we have never helped or been bias towards anybody and never will. The moment I find out that some judge favors a driver on some other reason than his driving skill, he is flying to Finland on a vacation with me that he will never forget.

Sincerely

good. that way when I win it won't be because I have sticker, hahaha

all in good fun guys, take a midol

Latest and greatest FOX SPORTS NETWORK will also be there to take some video for their weekly report, more publicity for you guys = more sponsors = more parts, money and tires to smoke and destroy.

The only problem I honestly see with this whole thing is how some of the sponsors for the events also have drivers competing. That's not exactly ethic, but hey.... I'm there to slide I guess. But one thing's certain... if the winner emerges as anyone that's being sponsored by a shop that also sponsored the event.... there'll be a lot of talk of bias.

Kind of like what would've happened if Santi won the Ter-Tech competition back in OSW.

I think is Santi had not obviously lost by spinning out, he could have won. I think the judges know that people will be skeptical and that will make them judge more accurately knowing that everyone will be watching runs, and stuff. There is almost always a judgement I question in every comp ive seen personally, and they havce no relation to the drivers at all.

i'm NOT gonna drive becuase i'm looking for a sponsor. hell i didnt even know there were gonna be any i'm just gonna have some fun and make you all look good because people will be like "yeah. he sux!" :bigthumbu

I agree with you that Santi had a good chance, but the fact that he might have earned the win doesnt make it any more ethical the fact that he was a Ter-Tech driver competing in a Ter-Tech event.

The problem is that in a subjective judged sport such as drifting, you really have to nail down and eliminate and possibility of bias in the judging.

that would only be a problem if the sponsors would be judging, but judges and me or the sponsors dont have any I REPEAT any AFFILIATION WITH EACH OTHER TER-TECH HAS NOTHING I REPEAT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE JUDGING. Judging is done according to WDC rules and the head Judge is Terence Jenkins who doesn't know a single driver from here or is he affiliated with any of the sponsors other than OctaneTV and as far as I know no one drives for OctaneTV. So this bullshit crying can stop right now about BIAS he or her or his sister or my grandma ...........
Best driver will win period, if there is two drivers that Terence feels are good enough to drive at IRL there will be two winners if there is three then there is three winners etc.....
Get the picture.
It is not written on stone that only one driver will get to IRL only thing written is that winner is guaranteed to go.
And if none of the sponsors would sponsor the organizers these events would stop happening. For example Falken, Cooper tire, Hankook , Yokohama, Nitto, I could go on for days relation to Formula D is pretty obvious isn't it

Speaking of which, you bring up a good point. Have you figured out who will be the three judges?
