Wow the first video i hilarious and the second=fail.

Why in the world would you replace the almighty RB26 with the LS1 which is a good motor but not good enough to swap into the place of the RB. In a 240 I can see why because the KA is wack juice but the RB26 is ballerific

because they can....ever that maybe where he is at the parts are easier to find?

1. If that is in the US, HE HAS AN R34 I DON'T THINK HE'LL HAVE A PROBLEM WITH GETTING PARTS IF HE HAS THE MONEY TO IMPORT THAT CAR AND TAKE DO THAT TRANSPLANT
2. If its out of country he shouldnt have a problem finding parts.
3. Because he can isnt a good enough reason to swap out the RB26

I'd rather have the LS1. Importing a r34 with no motor woouldn't be too expensive really.

^ I half way agree.. Twin turboing a ls1 isn't cheap and i'm sure this is a first so they had to make custom everything. By the time you did that you really think it wouldn't be cheaper to just buy a rb26 in perfect condition for 4 grand and it would just drop in with no wiring to mess with at all.. I feel this could go either way but to each his own

Ls1's are cheap to do anything to. And making your own mounts, wiring etc. It wouldn't cost too much. But it depends on how much you get the car for, or if this guy is just trying to be different then that whole theory goes out the window.

i did my v8 swap for under $200 so far so it isnt expensive. at this point theres no other motor id rather have in my car cause i make more power then almost everyone here on no boost. :bigthumbu

Yea, but your motor was free and it's carb so no wiring. All you need is a driveshaft and motor mounts and you car runs.

More power and less weight?

I think its fucking sick I would do the same

I think its sik bc of the uniqueness of the LS1 TT in an R34...and sounds mean and drifts like crazy...but in MHO..... RB26FTW

LS1's are light, and make the same amount of power as an RB26 in N/A form. Also V8 torque is unmatched. I think the LS1 is one the best engines available, because the power per dollar is very nice, and mods are very cheap. And who doesn't like the sound of a mean V8?

The owner of the R34 is a pro driver from Australia....

I think it pretty bad ass that he did that......It screams "Rape"
:bigthumbu

that answers the questions.... LS1 are an ICON in australia... they love V8s's to death.. and skyline is a fairly common and cheap car to attain for a middle class aussie.. so i guess he did coz he could lol
