10w30 may be factory spec....but that is also when the engine has very very little miles...

Like estie said...as the engine increases in miles the tolerences increase...

10w-30 or 5w-30 is what it prob said to use in the manual but it too thin for a motor that has miles... Unless if you got it off a front clip and you saw what it only had 30k on the motor, it doesnt have 30k like distributers like to tell you, more like 60-90k. I say go with 10w-40, i ran 3 quarts of 10w-40 and 1 of mystery oil (and that wasnt synthetic oil) for 3 years with no problem, running the car hard and all, upgraded turbo and still used same oil with no issues.

And 20w-50 is to thick!
