Smoking

ok my s13 (know named smoky chuki) is smoking. from wat i have no idea. oil level stay fine. coolant levels stay fine. but the smoke is sort of gray. i know the car has the egr disconnected. ive been trying to figure it out but no solution.

chuki means nothing in car world, i hope you know that.

and it might be oil being burned through the valve seals.... very little but just enough.

It's probably burning oil. Check your oil level everyday and if you see it dropping over time post back here.

yea thats what i was thinking. if i were to change the valve steam seals i would have to removed the head or could i just do it with the valve cover off.

you dont have to pull the head to replace valve stem seals. you gotta take out the cams tho, then remove the springs and retainers. make sure you have the cylinder youre workin on somewhere around tdc so that the valve doesnt fall down into the cylinder! then you would have to pull the head. they also make an adapter that screws into your spark plug hole to hold the valves in place with compressed air.

alright. do you know how much that would cost.

If you do it yourself, just cost of valve steam seals. Which is maybe, idk, 10bux? They're cheap little things. But you dont know for sure if that's your problem. Does your oil go down gradually in level? Maybe your just running rich. Narrow it down to def. being oil then move on.

well my oil has been at a fairly constant level but i have to leave the car wrapped up until all this rains passes for good so im not sure. but i recall this. after i bought the car. engine of oil level very close to L. started it up and oil level was past F. i put in about half a qt of oil to be safe. brought engine oil level when cold to F. checked today when engine was warm and level was slightly below F. but ill have to do i more consistent check to prove that its burning oil.

the reason why i said that chuki means nothing is that i have read threads posted by members in japan and they have said that it means nothing but w/e thats not important...

Most translation sites translate the japanese chuki to medieval. It really only becomes important if there have been significant changes that would affect a parts decision.

so lets translate this....why you guys think his car smokes??

have you gotten a physical? any signs of cancer?

smoke when u put a full load on it......like whne u do a pull...or floor it..or w/e u call it....????
