Did you check your oil level yet..
well it could be running rich because of the egr being disconnected. now as for the rings im pretty sure the engine would be running pretty rough with bad rings. my engine runs smooth. lastly the smoke could be lighter because i get a lot of condensation from the dual tip magnaflow exhaust with no resonators. but ill update you guys as soon as im sure all the rain is gone. im gonna pull the spark plugs saturday hopefully and they should tell me everything. if its burning oil im pretty sure ill find some oil on the plugs same with if where burning coolant. and then ill just look and the color to check if its running rich and possibly run a compression test for the springs. i wish i could do a cylinder leakage test but i dont have the gauges
1st- Compression test doesn't test the valve springs.
2nd- Compression test will test a leak in the piston rings
3rd- Condensation will not make your car smoke, that'll burn off once the car is ran a few minutes.
4th- Only way you would be burning coolant is if your headgasket went, look for one or more of the pistons (when you pull the spark plug) being super clean.
5th- KEEP AN EYE ON THE OIL LEVEL.
pretty sure he meant rings lol ...just cuz u drive some crazy alms bmw....doesnt mean you have to be a nazi
yea i know that a compression test will check for leaks but i wanna know how much is leaking. small leaks are generally ok but anything bigger as yo know is a problem. other thing is that the condenstation is formed as the car is running. know another problem that could cause this which was common in volvo im not sure about s13s but sometimes condensation would form in the gas tank if you store them too long without the tank being full. this would cause water to burn and look like droplets falling out of the exhaust.1st- Compression test doesn't test the valve springs.

I didn't know what he meant. If he meant rings, then why did he then say "I wish I could check cylinder leakage, but I dont have the gauge". Thats a compression test. So you see the drama!
i dont know if you know the difference but when you do the compression test your check to see how much compression the engine is running in each cylinder. now in a cylinder leakage test you set the pistons to where they are at i believe tdc or bdc (cant remember and both valves need to be closed) and actually force compressed air in the cylinder. you need a gauge to read the amount of psi in the cylinder. a small leak is considered ok but large leak can vary from bad rings or bad valve seats.
I don't know how your going to test compression without knowing the compression of the cylinder. But good luck.
My compression testor checks both (has an air fitting). But i dont know how you will tell without a gauge.
