While checking referral logs on our server tonight I came across a blog that had linked one of our Hyundai Genesis videos and two days ago they posted this rendering calling it a “Redbull Time Attack Project.” Now I consider myself a little smarter than the average bear and I got to thinking why would Rhys Millen produce and build another time attack car for Redbull……because that makes zero sense.
What Rhys Millen would be building a Redbull Hyundai for could only be Formula Drift. Here are my few arguments for why this is reality.
A- His current car he released at SEMA 2008 show looked just liked this with a different paint scheme. This leads me to believe this render was based off a photograh of his real time attack car that they super imposed the graphics on to show off to sponsors and such.
B- That would explain the Bridgestone Tires on the vehice as well since we announced at the end of last season they would not be returning to Formula D in 2009. It’s just a photo of the time attack car with new art work laid over it.
C- I think the listing on this Blogspot post is just either someone wanted to post the information but incorrectly list the item assuming no one would be the wiser or they are just some Hyundai fanboy who totally snagged something awesome and didn’t realize it.
Either way odds are this is Rhys Millen’s 2009 Formula D project or a rendering of something very close in our opinion. Rumors have been circling for a long time that this will be the reality of Rhys Millen’s future and we have to say it just makes sense. He seemingly has built some STRONG ties with them which can be seen especially in the video we just posted of him at Road Atlanta shooting the Hyundai Super Bowl Commercial.
