okay drifters lets be serious(part 2) level 3 special jdm version.

I dont know where this whole PAY thing came from. BUT DISREGARD IT ALL! PLEASE.

LS Man I know what you mean pay like $15 a year you can host pictures and get special features. But As far as I know that isnt happening. Mkae a suggestion in the Suggestions section of the forum.

I agree with a lot of what everyone is saying. A lot of us came form STREET DRIFTING roots. But that was the begining. To move on a get bigger and better we need to really push to get more tracks interested. I had a friend who's step father is Nelson Hoyos(7second Focus from Ferrea Racing) He once told me. Inorder to get sponsership and for people to take you seriously you have to take all of what you ever did, plan on doing or want to do, take all the publications you been in, can be in are contacting and put it all together. Because when looking for a track people who own them dont care that it is keeping us "kids" off the street and out of jail. They care that they can get EXPOSURE, MONEY and CONSITANTCY of events. They want EVERYONE to want what they have.

In order to have tracks take us more seriously we need to contact them with a meeting. Sit down, Have a video ready of loal events and other NAtional events and how much coverage they are getting so they see the growth potential. To show them we have a group of locals who are willing to travel extra early to set up and stay extra late to clean up. To show we are trying to grow and not just trying to screw around. For most of us Drifting is just a hobby. But for a good few of us we have UBER potential to get big if not HUGE with the right resources at our fingertips.

Eventually when we get more exposure at local tracks magazines, and video crews will come. Sponsers will be soon behind. Eventually who know sfull drift series will make it to the EAST COAST SOME DAY!

wow Tony told u this? but yes, i agree that the top SFLD guys, even just anyone who really cares to get together and try to talk to some venue owners. Show them our credibility so we can get events.

No Nelson himself. I don't talk to Tony.

hmm.... this probably sounds kinda silly, buuuuut....
why not buy a plot of land... and pave your own parking lot/course
i'm sure somewhere around here (particularly not miami...) there's some good locations out there, within most of our reach, where property value isn't all that high yet...can be a decent sized plot of land,
i'm not saying, "hey guys, let's get everyone in this community to donate $10 to raise up money for a track!' either, this idea doesn't neccesarily have to be a community effort either (at least, not the comunity as a whole anyway) it could be... an idea that reaches a couple of ppl who have (or can find) the means to make it possible... those ppl could be enticed by the idea, and see it as investment.

i don't know where you'd get the funds tho.. most of us are either going to college, or doing something else... but i guess you can try to find the right person who feels they have something to gain from it...

anyway don't hate, i'm just tossing random ideas out there...
kinda like a crazy horse stripping in front of an old notebook on the last day of school....

sterling between university and 90th ave is for sale go check it out its a huge plot of land you cant miss it

actually...doesnt cost too much to pave an area, you can ge pretty good deals on that....but, the real money would be in investing in a lot; thats where the millions come in (lots are actually in the millions...for a small lot in south florida your lookin at least 1.2 million).... first you have to have the means (monetary backing) an then you need a credit history an credit background (at least a 700 credit score) that will suffice with a bank to even think of applying.

then you need to have an income to support a monthly payment on the land. for instance for a lot that is at about 1.2 million...you will need at least 100thousand/year income or combined...an thats if you have no other expences..... so in that case you would need a group of investers with a combined income and really good credit backing that can support the payments....the bank of course would deside that.

then you have to look at zoning laws....most zones wont allow a track for suck use... some zones are already set by the urban planners in different cities that will tell you the only thing you can have on some lots is residential...or, industrial and so on.....

ok so lets say you get past all that...then you have to insure the land for such use... there goes a crap load of more money...

i have already done the math on it.... pretty cheap land out west in the Tampa area...an then north of us in Polk county an places where people dont live yet....

so i guess that brings us back to renting out other peoples tracks...or you could attempt to buy a track from someone who owns one..... nothing wrong with that idea... hmm...whos selling a track... lol

Hold on... I was looking into land south of Naples you can get a nice size plot for under 100k and buildout would cost about 150k-200k.. for a "secret track" size area... I don't have that kind of cash and IDK about the enviromental aspects (will they even let you build it) but it's a thought...

oh nice!... for that price it must be out in the middle of nowhere....this is what you do... if there is a sign or number you can call...call the realter and ask about zoning an if there are restrictions on what you do on that land based on the county laws for that area.... dude for 100 thousand dollar piece of land just two people can invest in it and build it up really quick....slap sum pavement on it and invest in sum cones.....an there you go... i mean you could just have a lot that you own an not tell anyone what you do on it...that way you wont have to worry about insuring laws....and well if a cop or sheriff rolls up u can be like i own this land... an your good..

there are ways around everything... my last post was strictly if someone planned on doing it by the books... but with that land you an someone else can purchase it....pave it out...an just pay mortage on it for years and years....that will build in value...next thing u know..you can refinance and use that money to build it out into an actual track....

The land is near naples (20-30 mins south) and near main roads... takes about and hour and fifteen minutes to get there from Fort Lauderdale.

find a cow field....and then take all the cows out...and then buy a whole bunch of cemente and BAM! TRACK!
yeh i know im genius, thanks!

It is not really the price it is the zoning laws and stuff. I mean has anyone known some one trying to get a pool in their back yard?

the paving part wouldnt be that exspensive......i have experience will building..i can run most equimpent out there.......i could design a track, i can build the whole track except for the top layer of asphault. so that would cut down a **** load of money issues right there...with a skid steer loader(bobcat) i could build a track the size of the "secret track" in a week or two(and can rent one very easily). **** i could even build some high spots for some elevation change .........................TOUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps. and i live in naples.
