My 240sx Ultiment story of the setup.....

WEll before i bought my 240sx the old owner of it had a crazy *** setup on his sohc ka24e on the 240sx i own now, i know it may sound stupid. But it was crazy. He had shaved the head for super high compresion and rebuilt the head and port polish the head, and retarded the timimg. He advanced all the timing and firing of the spark. He then rebuilted his tranny for shorter gear ratios for fast pick up Which the tranny is still on the 240sx i bought from him. He also had a 2.5 custom pipe and CAI. With all This Trouble he claimed 202 hp and 187 torque with the compression at 12.1 something like that. One day he was driving it and decided to push the car all the way to its limits and in the end the head blew. Where all the fluid vomited out. He rebuilded the car again with a new stock head. That was when i found my 240sx running like a Phaggat and idling like a CARberated Hot rod, He losted all his money in building this car so he sold it to me. FOr 800.00$ no rust but the front chassis was mess up pretty bad. :confused: I was happy. An all i could think of was a SR20det in this beast. But when i thought really hard i wanted to recreate the monster but witha ka24de hybrid.......Sohc block on the dohc head, shaved head and port polish it, Fearrii vlavles and springs, JWT ecu, JWt cams and camshaft, ETC........... In my opinion i know it will cost more than a Sr20det...But i want to be different and show what this ka24de could do all motor on teh track and the streets. This will be a new start for my dead 240sx.............. :cool:

JWT ECU is nearly worthless on a N/A car... they tested it in grassroots motorsports and there was NO HP gain on the dyno...
 
I think 202 is hard to believe, especially without any headers or cams or underdrive pulleys or anythign ****... I rebuilt my head, port and polish, valves, lifters, springs, retainers, exhaust 2.5'', cai, altima cams, e-fans, fidanza flywheel, and did the timing work on it and I woulda been lucky to have 175whp at most.... NA KA motors are cool and all but goodluck getting power out of them without spending 10jillion dollars

There's a little secret to the timing but i never got the chance to talk to him after he sold his car to me, But Damn Just hink about it super High Compression 12.1 Thats like a Freaking High compression like a Honda motor---- :D b18c5. God Damn if only i could have got all the info from him......Casue i thought it was all crap, like nothing can never beat a sr20det, i wish i took it all back and get the info from him about his MORE DETAILED SETUP. :(
 
Well in my opinion if you r going 2 go through all that trouble and build the interals just go low comp-pistons and boost it u might spend about the same amount he did but u will make more power and u won't have 2 run race gas that I konw of 12.1 comp is in the area of using race gas every now and again, now if all u want is a bad a$$ N/A more power 2 ya.
 
yea i would love Turboing in a ka....BUt i want to feel the potential of NA... I have been in many sr20dets and kat... But not a 200 whp n/a ka. I know i might be crazy about this na crap... but i will refuse to give up, and go NA, even though turbo is power....but i am not power hungry...I'm not like a real drifter seeing who slides the longest n stuff like that i am looking forward for technique that can be use into a Racetrack or touge racing... I am more of a guy who likes running the Curvey raods that says DANGER! NA--ROCKS :D
 
get a sohc and build it then, it's better than the dohc motor considering Nissan used it in the LeMans races and spent 6yrs developing the motor when they only spent 2yrs on the dohc... stupid timing chain tensioner wtf nissan
