in my opinion, lyrics are everything in a song. I listen to the heaviest of rock to the calmest. im a huge rap fan as well. everyone thinks that the screaming music i listen to is saying nothing but 'im going to worship satan' or 'i wanna kill myself if i cant have you' when in reality, none of the songs i listen to say that stuff. take a second to take in the lyrics of a song for once, see what it's all about. music needs to come from the heart, not just some hit recording factory itching to make their next buck

there is more good music out now then ever. cause the old stuff still exist added to the new stuff but most media (TV, Radio, Ringtones) only play the mainstream stuff. The black culture has given up on most quality hip hop and cheesy shit sells to the new generation of ghetto kids and preppy girls to sing while driving around in their Jetta. I just came across some of my CD's and was playing them while working on some cars. There was two young haitian/american kids hanging out. One was totally rocking out to somebody he's never heard of........KRS-One. Then Gangstarr. He said that they were both better then the shit that comes out now. So hopefully the people with good taste can influence enough of the youth of today to want the good shit. I listen to everything from Rock-a-billy to Indian disco but my collection of CD's is mostly Hip-HOp. Mos Def,the Roots, Tribe called Quest, De le Soul, Handsome boy Modeling School, The Streets, Jurassic 5, Afrika Bambaata and the Soul Sonic Force

I just use jayz as an example but what I am trying to say is the first album is always the best because its real...everything after that is all about making money...now im not knocking them for making money hell i would be too but still its nothing lyrically appealing about it.
