Music today sucks

the music industry just like the auto industry expedites the product out, that is the most cost efficient and most profitable way for the company....in their minds who cares about the workers and the trained people and talented people behind the instrument board and machines....the only way to make money is to lower the overall value of the product, those that make quality are the ones that dont sell out to the corporate giants, but in todays capitalistic society, many people just follow how the tide rolls because they feel they might get swept away....however in my mind there is and never will be a substitute for quality....and people will learn that

lol all this technology replacing humans has already been covered in the 2nd zeitgeist movie. go watch it

ya tu sabes, you are stuck in some 70's Jimmy Carter era mentality.

Technology isn't the demise of anything in the music industry, or any industry for that matter. Thank the gods we still don't have people hand building cars - they'd cost 2x as much and would seriously lack the quality of vehicles today. Technology has no life of its own - it does not exist without human influence. Technology is defined as the tools and crafts created by humanity to control our environment. Humans wield these tools. Humans are greedy. Greediness led to the illegal exchange of copyrighted material. The blame can only be placed on people.

i listen to the radio 99% of the time ....not cd's.....idk wut you guys are talking about...

i blame protools it gives the chance to any douche bag to make "music" I.E. the key correction option... say the song is on the key of E and i suck at singing and im totally off key just highlight the off key vocal track and adjust to the key to the key of the song (E) now i can sing in the proper key without even knowing how to sing

Yeah auto-tune is the plugin that made t-pain famous and some other rappers. Ricky is write when comparing it to the vocal processors of the 70's which are still really popular for vocal effects in funk and g-funk style rap.

YouTube - Crank That Soulja Boy Talk Box

vid of how the old talkboxes worked. The plastic tube plugs into the synth (or other instrument) and you play keys on the synth to manipulate the pitch of the voice.
