Lens Decision...

^^ like said. I would only buy from a store if there's a chance you can get a soft copy of a lens. Then I'd pay a little more and get it locally. It'll be less of a hassle in the long run.

amazon.com keh.com sigma4less.com (i think they carry other brands other than sigma too) I'm not on my laptop I have a few more links to places also.

Bingo, This In A Nut Shell Is Why I'm Asking For Something I Can Physically Visit.
We Aren't Talking 50mm 1.8 Price Lenses. Talking In A Future Thence.

I'm not sure about down there but up here we have colonial hobby which has a huge selection of lenses for both canon and nikon and even some olympus lenses. Also mf and lf stuff. Its actually a pretty good all around store. Everything from lighting to tripods, books, bags. Basically its like an awesome ritz without their high prices. They also have trains, model cars, helicopters, and in house film developing.

Oh yeah Fal if you ever need any kind of film and can't find it down there pm me. I'll give you my phone number and I'll check out down there. My friend was looking for some mf film and ft. myers only had 2 rolls so I sent him down like 6 rolls.

just gonna leave this here lol

if i had the money, i would get the d700

but the only reason im switching to canon, is that its cheaper

Nikon just started stepping up its prime lens line-up when it dropped the d3 so I'm sure they are going to address all of their primes and make sure they are up to par.

Its crazy how the sports field use to be about 90% canon but now you look and its about even.

yea, nikon is the only camera out there that can shoot 6400 clean

both bodies brand new are the same price (Best Buy prices) and you already have Nikon equipment. How is it cheaper to go Canon?

like i said before, i want wide lens with wide f/stops, and canon has cheaper lens
canon reproduces color better then nikon
21 megapixels is a cool thing
the hd video is always a plus, even tho i really wouldn't use it

and i would only have one lens if i stayed nikon, not that big of a deal

well. canon 5dmark2 will be order shortly. as soon as the kit is in. 21megapixels is great, but also not needed if its for screen but w/e. i need to shoot full-frame for the mags my boss said and the designer. print isnt coming out to great.

^^ thats odd because I've had no problem using my XT for mag prints or our catalog. I've also never have anyone complain about my work when they get their pictures printed off for framing.

The mag print was donk, box & bubble. The catalog is whatever size wheel catalogs come, I believe they are a big larger than a sheet of paper.

What resolution are you saving your pictures out as? Are you shooting in raw? When they do the catalog layout are they using the jpg or psd files? I know some of these questions you might not be able to answer.
