I'm sorry to hear about you car, glad that u are ok tho.
hopefuly you learn something and can aply it the next time you slide around.
if you need help with anything let me know.

I usualy redline second wen I drift in the dry(cuse my car doesn not have enough power to do it in 3rd yet)
7000 RPM = 60mph in my car so I know my entry speed.
I also have a digital cluster that puts the RPM gauge in the middle, with mild efort I uses peripheral vision to know what RPM I'm at.

Radical, but if your tires are spinning then your speedo readout is not accurate. I'm talking entry speeds into corners here anyway...when you're driving hard, entering a turn requires one to keep their eyes on the road so that they can setup for the turn while thinking about brake/throttle/clutch/gear/steering...how anyone has time (or desire) to look down and read their speed is beyond me.

Its all about teh WANGAN entry speeds! I think Anthony is right here tires spinning the speedo is off. I never know my entry speed.

I don't know if anyone's noticed, but i TRY to enter every drift as fast as possible. My 3rd gear entry (way too fast) @ Hialeah proves that. Yes, it ended in a crash, but it was an experiment and at least I tried!!! :( At OSW, I was entering as fast as my car would allow @ 1bar. After 2 or 3 tries at OSW I never lifted and just clutch kicked the poo out of 3rd.

Lebbet sorry to hear this hopefully all works out how you like. Good luck.

Lets not forget about the fact that most of you have changed your wheels and tire sizes also causing you speedos to be off.

How do you people somehow manage to know how fast you're entering turns...here's an idea, look at the road and not the speedometer because I seriously doubt you can enter a turn while looking at the speedo and NOT crash.

I always look at my speedometer before i enter a corner, slow down 10mph, and then add 20mph when I tell my friends or when i post here.....

equation for drift speed: V(real)=V(bragging)-(20)-(10)

not trying to be a ****. But you should attend at least a few more track days before trying anything on the street. Having a nice car wont drift itself. Invest in some seat time and it will make you a better and safer driver.

thas a lie, and to all the new drivers just coming into this stuff, more mods = more drift .

Funny you say that but I recall you first started out trying things on the street before you got any track time. Anywho, like you said, seat time will make you a better driver. But theres other ways you could learn to be a better driver without getting any seat time. ;)

the way i see it at least she is ok, i dont know about the 65mph, thats pretty high. I wouldnt drift an Is300 they are too nice, next time you go out practice, try to go slower, and find a place without curves or anything you could hit.

I tried to slide an IS one time. The *** slid one way the body rolled the other. Snaped back and almost spun it.

yeah practice in a parking lot. Not a turn with curves. I said that because id rather people hit a curb then a ****ing wall @ hialeah, and no comment to you benji.

Guillermo you just contradicted yourself, badly.

First you said, " not trying to be a ****. But you should attend at least a few more track days before trying anything on the street. Having a nice car wont drift itself. Invest in some seat time and it will make you a better and safer driver."

Then you said, " yeah practice in a parking lot. Not a turn with curves. I said that because id rather people hit a curb then a ****ing wall @ hialeah, and no comment to you benji."

How does that make since?

Anyways parkinglots have curbs to. Actually alot. I hit one last night.

But think of drifting like this Lebbet. You pay to drift on a track, where you SHOULD be safe from crashing, hialeah speedway was an exception because it sucked.

But drifting on the street inst free either, you have to pay something. Either tickets or crashes.

Thats how I look at it.
