hahahaha i love that book. its funny how theres a forum where people take that book so so seriously. i mean its real entertaining and they cover every scenario possible.. but if you look on the back it says "HUMOR CATEGORY" and its written by max brooks for christ sake which is mel brook's son or brother but i cant remember. anyways anyone who likes zombies would love reading that book.
 
What a weird topic but yeah I like watching zombie movies, there are plenty of good, classic ones. I always think what would I do if I was in the movie. The 1st thing like someone said is wear something that teeth can't penetrate easily but also something you can fight in. I would prefer leathers jackets with thick padding(basically sport bike jackets). Something similar for your legs and probably steel tipped boots. Something to protect your head also. I would probably like an assault rifle but I would get w/e weapon I could raid. The basics would be a hand gun(w/ decent stopping power), assault rifle and something sort of Rambo-ish knife(you can survive awhile with water and a sharp knife in general). I would prefer something big for transportation, something that can plow through crowds of zombies.

PS Yeah I'm weird :D .

Heheh, I didn't even know that book existed, I might just pick it up.

ZOMBIES: SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Anyway yeah thing about zombies is you got 2 distinct categories. You got the Virus/Biological Agent/Genetic Experiment types, and the Gates of hell/Rapture in zombie form type. The first is still subject to the laws of nature, hence natural zombies. This is the type of zombie infestation you can wait out, as the only reason they are still working is because at some level a biological process is at work, if energy is exhausted they simply die.

The 2nd is a supernatural wrath of god/attack from the devil type of thing. Either satan or unspecified "dark forces" come from hell or another supernatural plane and logically decide zombies are the order of the day, or the rapture occurs and god decides to work in mysterious ways by reanimating the earthly bodies of the uplifted. Death is unavoidable in this case, if a supernatural being decided to assault earth, you can think of zombies as the teaser trailer.

Also, stop with the handgun talk. Unless you know GunKata you're dead meat. Shotgun with alternating large shot and slug rounds is your first choice. Assault rifles are secondary because they suck for close quarters combat, which is the ONLY combat you need to worry about. Only use for a even a rifle is clearing loitering zombies from the entrance of an objective (store, shelter, etc). You're not going to be randomly picking off zombies, if you see a zombie at a distance, you need to look for additional zombies immediately and change course. Stopping to take a shot for shits and giggles is begging for a bite on the neck while you try to get a bead on it...

Sub-machineguns are almost as useless as a handgun because shotguns are much more effective at clearing close quarters and even medium range, and large assault rifles are better for long range.

Gunkata you say, with some general martial arts knowelge you'll get by with "zombie Gunkata." I do agree about having better closer range weapons. You need weapons that you can easily move around in also, you wouldn't want to be weighed down when you have a few hundred, hungry zombies after you.

well to be serious i think i would find the first good looking girl that is not zombified and take her with me to a safe place....and then after that pretty much juts get as much food and liquer as possible since most likely your going to die anyways. but if i thought that survival was possible then i would want to find like landmines or some kind of bomb that could be triggered so i could set up traps around the safehouse
 
ok equilibrium was an awesome movie I forgot how good it was until I seen that Gunkata video.. I wish I had handguns with 200 rounds in each of them..LOL As for Zombies, they are best to steer clear of my house.
 
I just hope all those zombie movies helps with seeing the nasty stuff that will come from a zombie infestation. Don't make me post some Italian zombie vids.
 
Well if zombies did come then i would have to make my way to BassProShop!! That would be your best beet. Just think they have lots of weapons close range as well as far range. An assortment of diffrent foods a ver big fish tank, lots of fresh clothing like camo, a second storie wher they have the gun range u can set that up as a base of operations, a roof, lots of fishing gear. that place is a zombie free zone!! U want to live go there no better place

Obby would be my weapon of choice because he has ALL zombie knowledge.
I want one of those bazookas that you have to kneel down to use and it eliminates everything. I think that'd be great. Napalm would be good too..
 
People have to remember this sort of things happen out of no where. You barely have any time to think. All you can do is find some "safe" shelter and raid places for food, weapons and ammo. Whatever food you fine that is ok to eat is fine. Whatever weapons you fine have to be made the best of. Unless you already armed to the teeth, just make do the best you can. Try to get the the best weapons and protective clothing you can find.
