idea? good or bad?

i want to build a nasty ka24e turbo motor? or save all that money and do the regular sr20 swap that everyone has? im kinda of caught in a bind of what to do? any sugestions would be appreciated (spelling)

There is a reason why and I'll give you a hint: Its not cause they are awesome motors to turbo........... And Its not that it will make goobs of power...... and its not because it will ever be as good as A KA-T or a SR20.

Cause they are morons with no class and sohc vtecs cost about 50 dollars after you've blown yours up on the 3rd lap down the drag strip.

sure sohc ka cost the same but i'd like to think us nissan peeps are more intelligent then honda drivers.

Get an SR20, just look at the specs you posted. The SR20 is faster and already turbo. Its probably gonna be cheaper to just get a stock SR rather than turboing a KA and trying to keep it reliable.

if anything

I think at this point there are more KA-T 240's than SR powered ones FYI.

SR's are a thing of the past, everything now is KA-T or 1JZ-2JZ.

I personally say go SR20DET but that's just my opinion. Drive a SR powered 240 and then go drive a KA-T powered one and see what engine you like better.

^ That would not tell the guy shit. Test-driving shows only the end results. The pain in the ass to get a proper KA-T put together would only be known be going through the process himself.

^^ The accomplishment of a Ka-T is really rewarding. I say Turbo the SOHC. Sure its been done before but, hasnt everything...?

Throw a K20 in there and convert it to RWD :bigthumbu

JJ me and manny both have told you this before, SR!!!! lolz well i dont know if we have told you the full story but here gose.. we have built like 2 KA-Ts both DOHCs but wat we have found is that the money it takes to build one with out internals and good tuning is a lil more then what a SR20 cost also the reliability of a ka-t vrs that of an sr is no comparision because everything on the sr was designed with boost in mind, where the ka was made to be a truck motor. the ka-t can make huge amounts of power and are great if you have the money to spend. you can get a sr and do the swap your slef with a side mount for about 2000-2200 with all the stuff you need right down to the oil if you know where to shop. with a ka-t you would spend more then that before tuning in just parts (turbo, manifold, wastegate, intercooler, piping, fule pump, injectors, FPR,and some thing to tune it all with) The cost of a real good built Ka-t is in my eyes not worth it becuase you can drop a RB in for about the same! the only real plus to the KA-T would be how easy you can get stock parts for it such as starter, ps pump ect...
