idea? good or bad?

thanks JAMIE, im saveing for an SR found one with the ecu and harness for $700.00 think this is a good deal?

hey give me a call tonight, to meet up at winter circle or 20mile peace....

$700 will get you a seized SR, cut up harness, missing parts, and the wrong ecu.

Unless its stolen or the guy you're buying it from is dumb.

hey boxmod i wouldnt be supprised if you bought an sr20de fwd and your trying to prevent other people from being as stupid as you!!!!!! sorry alot of people arent that fucking dumb....

yea dude chill out he was just giving you a suggestion, after all, you were the one who asked for advice

and fyi 700, like was said before me is probably gonna get you cut harness and bad ECU
expect to pay more than twice that for the full engine with working parts
turbo vs sr is up to you, but either one is gonna cost money. dont expect to pay 700 and think youre done with it. youve got to take into account a rebuild on the KA and strenghten the internals to be able to handle the power, amung other things including piecing all the parts together, or you could get a brand new kit ( expect to pay upwards of 1500 at least), the price you'd spend on a full SR. do some more research and save the money anyway

If this is your first time owning a turbo charged vehicle that you plan to modify I do not suggest you turbo a ka. Too many things to take into consideration when "slapping" a turbo on a naturally aspirated engine. So many different ways to get the car running correctly, making power and not exploding. Add the bumps in the road of all the after market installation procedures for supporting modifications and its a pain in the ass. I constantly tell people to get an sr20 because for the norm, its simpler, easier, and a proven engine, so why not?

But if you want to experiment with piecing together your own turbo kit, temporarily ghetto rigging things so you can drive the car, constantly maintain fixes that you have done because you dont know the proper way to install them, fight having a shitting tuned piggy back with all or nothing power. Then try to fix your mistakes with something that is supposed to be better which turns into more of a cluster fuck whether it be a standalone method of tuning, turbo swap, or upgrading parts.

Lets put it this way, if you dont learn and fix problems with a turbo car shit is going to explode in your face and your going to be back at step1 with something that dose not drive. get an sr20.

theres a little advice from someone who has had a turbo ka for almost 2 years.

lol i think he might have been saying a non turbo RWD sr20de, but if he wasnt then sorry jj but everyone is right its a shady deal. but sickness said it pretty good too, if you have never owned a turbo car and dont have much know how on motors then building a motor that wasnt meant for it isnt the best way to go if thats your only car. if you have the money or another car to drive when your project isnt working then its a great idea cuz your ass well learn the hard way lol. me and manny found out the hard way but boosting a non turbo talon that had the cappry 420a motor. it was head ache after head ache and the car neaver got to run right since a honda hit it but we learned alot in a very sort time cuz we had too.
