Hmmmm I was fist looking for a 1986 200SX (S12), black, 5spd, hatchback. Saw it in an autotrader. When I looked around for one I couldn't find any the only one I found was a white, coupe, auto, fudged up exterior, but it was only $500. I went home looked in the auto trader again one more time and I found another perfect black S12 but RIGHT NEXT TO IT was a 1991 RX-7 GXL (non-turbo) I went to go check it out. It had PERFECT, like brand new, interior (i have ****ed it up since then but whatever, still clean inside) a little crash in the front, NO RUST...anywhere. and power everything, header back exhaust, good tires etc. So I thought damn this is a good deal for $1,500.....I learned many things from this car, like: Don't buy the first car you see until after looking at other cars, never buy a car that has an engine bay that has been cleaned, etc. So about two weeks after I bought the car I had noticed the idle problem and a few other things here and there. Then one day POP! So after that I learned how do to a few more things, like a motor swap on a budget, always check EVERYTHING on the car before you buy it like make sure the air filter is in, etc. lol
Some may say it was a careless buy and a waste of money for what I got because of all the problems, but if I could do it again I would do it the same way, because if I would have bought a perfect car (mechanically) then I would not have learned everything I did. I was a kid though, soo ya know....
My introduction to Drifting though, My good freind Peter Rigopolous showed me a video from Japan called Initial D when we were in 9th grade since then we were all about drifting that same year we saw an 1986 Corolla GT-S on ebay for $500!!!!!!!! all it needed was a door, but we were both too young to own or even have enough money to get it. Now he has a very nice G35 and after driving and being driven in it, I think its the only new car I would get.
and that's it, sorry it was long but it's my favorite story....besides my China Buffet one hehehe
