Florida Drift Points Series

i think this is a horrible idea, too mutch drama, it would be a hate/ bitching fest...imho i dont think this would do any good to the community
 
It would actually make Florida stand out.....make the scene blow up....and no one would hate on anybody, maybe invite like Harri or Bill Sherman to be a judge, even Boxmod or Blake from Braille.....we can actually make this happen, why the fuck not! Think big, make things happens

no mad here...lol....just stating that to get a "pro" series down here ..which is basically wut emil is saying....there would have to be quali runs and everything....taking track time from those who need practice..
 
not a pro series bro....more like a Florida series, no need to qualify to compete in....just show up and hope to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.

I really need to get together with Tim and Harri and put down some ideas of mine on the table to have sponsors participate in this idea as well.

Trophies, and sponsor prizes each event and im talking about maybe 6 event per year
 
good idea.. but you are forgetting something.. which is very important.... SPONSORS.... drifting is not big enough in FL to get the amount of sponsors needed to do such a a series.....
 
^ Well when i mention sponsors, I mean by local shops like Murray's or Speed and Truck world...maybe get pepboys or Discount auto to sponsor....Maybe Tires plus since my brother works there and I am good friends with the store manager! Shit like that....you know, then we can have prizes like trophies and gift certificates to certain stores....maybe a set of tires and at the end of the series maybe a cash prize of $500 or more, Id be all over it!
 
You can get some big sponsors or a lot of little sponsors. I wouldnt mind being a small sponsor
 
I know it sounds vain but i would volunteer to be a judge because although i really am not all that great of a driver. I do have a deep understanding of the mechanics of the techniques involved and as Erick has seen very observant of little things car do mid drift.

But im gonna be leaving in a month anyways so I wouldnt be able to be involved anyways :(
 
It should be financed by the drivers....like stated earlier, part of the event fee could go to the winning prizes (money or otherwise ie. tires) That way we would have an incentive to make it successful and not try to suck up to a sponsor or any other entity. And if it was pulled off properly the organizers would be approached and things could grow naturally.

yeah no money, that would be best maybe a trophy or a little card that says "Im special I got 1st place YAY!!!"
 
I Think This Would Be Sweet No Monies Just Maybe A Trophy It Might Make People Push A Little More To Improve Instead Of Spin Out Champ Like Me.
 
I also think it would bring in more spectators and get more people into the sport since the most common thing I hear from new people in the crowd is "who's winning?"
 
i spoke to some people tonight and keeping money out of would be in the best interest of eveyone. because money generally tends to create uneccessary tension. guille myself and other are going to sit and create a rulebook. and then we will update further later on
