Well guys, I'm fairly new to the photography. Ive had my camera for about a year, and still learning the use of different settings. I own a Sony A200, i figured that was a good learning camera at the time, especially since i had 20% off :) . Offered my friend a to do a photoshoot of his jetta and his bros mini
S. Comments are welcome, i know they need help. I do edit pictures in photoshop, or at least I try to.

Whats the name of the jetta owner?

Mike. Dunno his last name.

I agree with the lighting. I wanna see if i can make some home made external flashes. Anyone have an idea where i find a tutorial on that?

im pretty sure you can use any sort of external lighting(i.e. work lights) but they wont work like flashes, they will just add ambient light.
i know u can do this in filming but if you brighten the object directly it will tend to make the background completely black, so its best to let the light bounce off of objects out of frame or just set the lights further back to give it a larger area to cover.

looks like an old buddy i havent talked to in years... and stop being so damn jealous

Wow I expected to come in here and see pure shit as usual for a first time shoot, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is actually not bad for a first shoot! Practice makes perfect, keep shooting! look in magazines/websites to get inspiration for locations, composition, lighting techniques, etc.

I found this, im planning to do this in the near future. As you can see you can change the lamp to an ultra white halogen. So i can get rid of that yellow that we all dont want. I was thinking of adding a soft box around it so it isnt as harsh. My biggest concern is, how do i light up this bastard where there is nothing to plug them into.

this is where generators are ur friend :bigthumbu

you dont need a generator. power inverter from walmart, $20 and you can plug it into the cig lighter

QFT, my Vagabond is pretty much a Honda battery and an inverter in a nice pretty orange package. I need something like this though because I usually can't pull a car into where I'm shooting. But in your case it should be fine to use an inverter. I would recommend a very good one though. Something a little better then $20

well the cheap ones are $20. a nice one is $50, but why the fuck would you wanna spend 100's on a generator. shit you could probably get a car battery and run them off of that!!!
the only way you need a generator is if your doing like a full 8 hour shoot or something
