This event is paid for and will happen rain or shine.
The rest of the season it not cancelled dont over react yet.
But Antti is right if we are going to spend almost $16 000 on an event in the PBIR and the drivers wont sign up you can bet everything you own that PBIR events will be cancelled.

We love the sport alot, but not enough that I would force my child to sleep outside under the bridge, since I lost everything on couple of events.
None of the tracks we have on the schedule are cheap and since the economy is doing awesome it is almost impossible to get any series sponsors and most of the sponsors we have got we have pushed them to go and help the drivers since they are more important than us or any organizer including FORMULA D (even that they have missed the memo on this). without the drivers there is no show and with no show there is no events. It is that simple.
this is straight from harri http://www.sfldrifters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43199&page=11

any real media?

and that sucks about the events....this has happened before...i am sure Harri remembers...

If people would stop beating off to Japanese drift videos and would show up to see the real drifting, we would have more spectators and maybe a chance that we don't have to cancel the events.
Yesterday Florida's best drivers put out one of the best show we have seen.
And also all the drivers who are building their cars forever, yesterday the guy who won, was running N/A KA engine. Which shows that it's not about what you are driving. It's about who is driving it.

its about who has the money to make it..

haha this is the Florida Drift Championship. This is like the cheapest form of any car related competition you're gonna find. If you don't make very much money, like me or pretty much everyone else I know that's running the series, then it's all about budgeting how you live.

I pay bills, build my car, and go to a strip club once a week, AND they cut my hours at work, and i STILL make it to all the events

its called dedication, and i dont see a lot of it here.

redneck boys sitting in the back of their trucks once they leave the gun show, too many!!!

yeah thats the big problem with the fairgrounds lot I remember the first one where I was basically doing "redneck pickumup truck mmmmhmm" Duty telling those guys they either pay or scram.

there was a lot of ppl there that just walked between the bushes and watched for free.

well i really wanted to drive this event. and those of you who know me know i wanted to. i work two jobs and sell hids on the side to support my family and hobby. sometimes events fall on days where people cant make it. just like yesterday. even if im not drivin an event i always try to make it to every local event to support the sport. Now that im a bit more confident in my driving i really wanted to drive the fairgrounds but it is what it is. Im gonna try to make the next fairgrounds whenever that will be!

I also hope things keep going in a better direction for the sake of the sport! cuz i have never drifted in the streets nor will i ever. so these events are the only time i get to drive my car anyways!
