Countyline Suggestion Thread

the drifters have to pay to do what they love to do
photographers should pay something to
along with spectators
etc...
everyone ends up paying some way or another

I have to agree with Highwaystar22 and z4k.

I do have a problem with people that do events, stating they allow media and then turn around and ask for Press Cred. Well most of the Photographers I have shot with are Freelance. I have done 12 events, and have been paid to do 1. All others stated use logos, and sign your life away if car hits you.

I bust my ass 50+ hours aweek at a desk job. And on the weekends I shoot. I dont mind paying for events.

Here's how it works

1 Event announced
2 People Come
3 There's drifting
4 Photographers take pictures
5 Pictures go online
6 All the people that didn't go see the pics and it intrigues them to go to the next one

So basically the photographers are advertising for the track.

This was my first event that I got a media pass so I didn't care if I was charged but if I was these guys that have alot more under their belt than I do I would understand why they are perturbed by this

i say try it one more time a full drift day!!!!.. people get more runs.. more fun.. change the announcer.. and try to fix all the problems and c how it goes... if not then.. will have to drive our asses to OSW

oh, and for anyone saying that photographers are having fun out there...you obviously havent done media coverage of an entire event day...it gets hot/tiresome quickly. not to say that media people arent happy or satisfied afterwards, but that shit is not as fun as driving, or as easy as just sitting there and enjoying the driving.

media for free is my vote.

in fact, in most industries, media people make green, not vice versa.

IMO: the next County Line Drift Day should be on a Saturday, why because you can run the event a good 12 hours or even more, if necessary. How about it finishing at mid-night?

$5 FUCKING DOLLARS PEOPLE DAMN its great you all advertise the track but no one really requested any of you to come if its such a big problem then dont come lol if photography isnt fun then why are u even out there doing it for free??? lol

If it was you drifting out there you would be begging for pictures.... :D...so if I was you don't get the photographers angry! And those $5 can be used to by one of the HOT ass drinks they were selling! I personally was out there before the rain in the pit of death and paid the $10, no problem but I'm a local guy that just takes pics for fun. But some of the guys out there were pretty serious and there pictures say a lot for those who didn't have the privelage of being there. The photographers have the whole world to shoot for free, the drifters only have that one track to go to thats why they pay, spectators only have that track to go watch, thats why they pay, media is to get exposure of your event. And ALL the drivers love to see their car in a moment only the MEDIA can capture.

yes

Very well put, Way to go mista Rodriguez, But if possible I will always get media in for free, cause i have alot of friends that are photographers and it cost them money to do what they do and is very little profit for most of them. I tried to get every Photographer in for free and the owner wasn't haven't. Once again sorry guys, i didnt think he would turn on me like that.

Drivers pay $55-$60
spectators pay $10
media pay $5-$10 ( if you guys are bitching about paying then dont go at all lol )

the pits has to be in the skidpad just because u all need a flat surface and its safely away from spectators the distance thing can be resolved i will personally transport drivers in tims vert if he aint driftin it or my truck or anyones car!

parking will have to be 100ft behind the tent/starting line on both sides of the strip

now krails i really dont know if its gon be possible i mean well try but if not then its photographers risk

we will try to see if we can get gullie on the mic if not then we will give the manager a run down on EVERYTHING cars, drivers names etc

i think tim would agree with me wen i say that we will not throw another event at countyline unless it is strictly ONLY drifting

30 drivers and 3 groups of 10 with each driver 5 RUNS is perfect just dont eat shit dont get there late or you WILL LOSE YOUR RUNS if we can start earlier and end later in a STRICTLY drifting event all drivers would easily get atleast around 20-30 runs which for $55 i dont care wtf anyone says thats awesome

i hate sloppyness!!!! so we gon need more cones and more of dat cool flag caution line stuff lol so we can make a FULL path for the spectators and for the return lane so we can let drivers who just finish running back in line and dumb hicks from driving onto the track lol

it would be great if we could have atleast 3-4 more staff members

as much as the free food rocked i really felt bad we should atleast pay $7 all u can eat atleast that was a very kind gesture on robs part but yea i felt bad

and about the rock blower we came from sliding on the streets getting tickets and crashing our cars cmon if u guys see any BIG ASS rocks let us no and well take care of it but there will aways be rocks on there srry its life well sweep the track as best as we can after each group runs

lemme know if i missed anything[/QUOTE]

for once i agree with you

my opinion is if every one payed then they could pay for advertising and people making the flyer could use your pics that you could charge for a price if you like...its a vicious circle

if anything media should give donations...come on people

I dont make green :(

But then again I am not signed with anyone to cover them or events. I am working on that.

So to the ones that think we should get free :bigthumbu
And the ones that charge :bigthumbu

I dont care..as long as I can shoot without having some fucking drunk spectator on my ass I am green.

And yes that did happen to me at the IRL on Sunday.

All in all I love shooting, I love getting the rep from drivers, fans and other photographers. That makes my day. Even if I know no one out there. I am there to serve for the drivers moving up in the Drift world, IRL, Drag, Skateboarding, whatever. Because if you land those shots, hopefully they wont forget about you when they go big. (even if its just a tee or comin in with them as crew to shoot them)

Christopher B.

If any of you see me at a event (usually cant miss me) introduce your self, Ill give you my card and send you the photos. If you have water that is a plus :bigthumbu

i dont know, im not a media guy but i dont think they should have to pay. if its JUST 5 BUCKS then what the fuck does it matter to you. then next time you slide ill make sure you pay for your pics or some shit. i dont know, just add that five buck to the spectators entry or some shit. but i think media should not have to pay.

Cant do saturday at this track cause they open the track on saturday for the 1/8 mile runs and 5 hours is not enofe unless we only did 15 cars. my goal is a 12 hour day.

are u fucking serious kid why did u think i added 5 bucks to the drivers fee???? to cut back $5 from the medias fee dis guy doesnt want ppl getting in for free. and im sure ull make sure i pay anything lol plz nigguh suck a dick

no one pays the photographers they go because they enjoy taking pics correct? photographers u dont get paid so why do u go?

so if i like to drift why do i have to pay??? i give all the photographers pretty pics to take and with out drivers there would be no spectators or event at all leading to no event! and no money means no track!!

so basically what im trying to say is

everyone should pay
if u like to drift u pay $55
if u like to watch u pay $10
if u like to take pics u pay $5

if i were a driver or a spectator ide be outraged at wat a big deal u guys are making they are payin $50 more than wat u pay to do wat u like!

Well said.

And I have said it before. 95% of the photographers I shoot with are FREELANCE. They make no money. I have covered countless events and havnt gotten a dime.

Only thing is with IF you like to take pics you pay 5. You could have anyone that hasnt been to a event and shot on track, walk up and say I want to shoot there. Next thing you know it they get hit, or stand to close to track. I have seen it at events, spectators should be behind walls, and us photographers sign our life away to stand on the other side.

I enjoy shooting thats why I shoot.
I enjoy reading the comments from drivers and spectators.

Thats why I shoot, and yes maybe one of these days I will be with a company. But I will still do events where I dont get paid.

thank you a humble response i hate being a dick srry sebation for telling u to go suck a dick lol

Media shouldn't pay. You want your events to have exposure??
FYI: Most photographers charge YOU for their work. I know plenty of "freelance" photographers who get paid.
If people keep making media pay, they just won't shoot their events. Easy as that.
It's 5$, but 5$ here and 5$ there adds up, especially if you're travelling to events to shoot.

It's just a suggestion, but every event I have ever been to was free for the BF because he's media.
