why?

How was his hatch not legal?

Well i failed tech cause my dump was out the hood and had to rerun it back. No big deal, but if u read his post he tells u why...... Batts is to be in box and fire wall is needed as well. Not sure how else to explain it.

I thought he said his actual hatch door was iligal but he cleared it up . Thanks for the info. Does the dump have to enter exhaust or can it be a certain distance long or decibel level loud ?

there is a decibal rule, but the exhaust must exit behind the rear axle in most rulebooks. XDC just says behind and away from driver so you can do the side stuff infront of the rear wheels.

there is not much slack in tech at SWD usually. I also failed ATL on minor things (that havent changed in over 2 years) but I had to address them. Sometimes the guy forgets something or doesnt notice others. Its designed to be the same as pro except for...

*You dont have to have a race seat/harness in passenger side (no seat is ok). FD must be full race on both.
*You dont need to have the windshield or rear brake light LED strips.
*You dont have to abide by the tire rule

the rest is pretty much the pro book to my knowledge.

Well technically rule book says all exhaust gases must exit behind the rear axle.
So that means the dump either has dump into exhaust pipe or run it all the way to the rear axle.

whats making you say that?

pretty sure James Evans door bars are not legal either. didn't look at Dans to see if its the same.

Joe G's tow hooks were technically illegally far to long/sticking out from body work.

and yup....the other stuff you said I agree on

Don't know about Evans or Joe but Nate's car had the fuel cell and battery exposed to driver with no firewall.

I think the tow hook rule is so that if you hit someone it won't poke through body work or roll cage. Can you imagine getting hit on the side and a super long tow hook hit you through the open space in your roll cage? That would suck lol

yea.. james door bar was an X, but he had no door internals + fiberglass doors = must be nascar door bars that extend out into the door.

Was wondering about that . So if your door has no Skeleton ,your door bar has to flare out to your door right ?

rulebook states

7.4.11 Side Protection:
All cars shall have a minimum of two (2) door bars across each front door opening. The door bars may run parallel, or in the shape of an “X”. If the two door bars do not intersect as they do when forming an “X”, then a minimum of two vertical tube sections shall connect the upper and lower door bars. Teams may also choose to install a second row of double horizontal door bars that run parallel to the inner bars and extend into the outer door skin, these are also known as “NASCAR-STYLE” bars. In this configuration, the outer bars must also have a minimum of two (2) vertical tube sections connecting the upper and lower bars. The inner door panel and door internals may be removed.

**I guess maybe his bars are legal afterall, and I was recalling the wording out of order. I was thinking that IF you had no internals, you must use nascar style.

I really wish FD would read this but who knows if they will. But yea I agree with the cut outs being a loss. They were small, was only 3 of them and unless you wanna be at asshole god media guy to say I need to shot from there, you werent going to shoot from there. There shoulda been a 2nd shorter wall between that wall and stands just for the media to walk around and use the cut outs.

Yea there needs to be more seating, though I think one other problem is I think they sold more grandstand seating than what was actually available. Maybe have security make ppl stay in the seats and not up on the fence. The fence was put up there for safety. Its not exactly safe if your holding onto the fence and watching and something breaks off a car and smashes your hand. There was just too many ppl standing up and blocking the view

I want to see more going straight behind lead cars and more literally hitting clipping points to scoree 100! because thats what drifting is all about.
Driving was awesome! All the drivers did really good, makes me wish I was half as good as they are.

that actually has a good view. half the bleachers were stupid to sit in and you would miss the entire entry.

All my pics and videos where from second turn and on :/ judges stands where in the way Of entry

1: To the motherfucker that had the twelve man umbrella and sat in the middle of the bleachers with it open, Fuck you.
2: Someone explain where you sat if you didn't have grandstands, because I don't see it.
3: I apologize to all the media for the shitty angles you were given.
4: This event had too many annoying rude people. I saw so much mainstream bullshit that was unnecessary. If you see one of the many media guys taking a shot of something, be polite, walk behind them.
5: There just needed to be more etiquette this year, last year it was better in that sense.
6: I loved the layout, minus the last turn which seemed like everyone damn near stopped.
7: Brad Newman needs to sell me one of those strawberries, just saying. I don't give a fuck on legality, gimme.
8: The parking lot was way better this year, last year they only had the one gate open. Thank you for changing that.
9: Get better judging criteria.
10: More NOS, Nitto, Monster, and Enjuku Girls to attempt to flirt with.

I still think the Enjuku girls were hotter than the other girls. Just saying
