The Florida Supports Drifting event held at CFRC was conceived to help three Florida Formula D drivers who competed at the Long Beach event in California. A portion of the entrance fees was divided amongst the three drivers to alleviate some of the financial burden that was necessary to attend the Formula Drift event. Jeremy Lowe, Chelsea Denofa, and Patrick Goodin were on hand to receive the generous contribution provided by CFRC while they took the time to catch up with their fans, reflected upon their experience competing professionally, and performed exhibition runs for the spectators in attendance.
Although the focus of the event was directed towards the three drivers, an open drift practice was held for other drivers to lay down some rubber at the tracks new layout. Drivers from different areas of the state made the trip to show their support bringing together a diverse lineup of make and models such as Toyota Corolla, Nissan Skyline, and BMW 3-Series to name a few. The eclectic vehicle lineup was a refreshing sight to see considering the frequency of Nissan 240SX's found at local drift events. With 6 rounds left to go, Florida's Formula D drivers will need all the support and help they can get to make it through the season.
