Never have rode shotgun in a drift car before? Well here's your chance!

Come out to the NOS Energy Drink Drift Park at CFRC, Friday, May 6th from 7pm to Midnight for another awesome night of drifting! A long with Chelsea Denofa in his new BMW giving ride-alongs to those that want to feel exhilarating ride around the track!

Drivers are $40, gates will now open at 6pm, drivers meeting at 6:45, you miss it, you don't drive, simple as that.

Spectators are $10

Ride-A-Longs: $10, must be 18 years or older, and sign a waiver of liability, helmets are available.

ride-a-longs are 10$? are the drivers providing that service being compensated in part by the tracks extra charge (without the providing driver, you cant charge for the ride, only fair isnt it that the 'ride operator' is getting paid?? not being a jerk. just seems odd that... we charging to ride in a caged car all of a sudden.

i think its $10 for ride alongs in chelseas car. therefore im sure they are paying him something for the service.

Absolutely, depending how this goes, we may do future ride-a-long days with more drivers.

thats even worse. one ride in a car for $10? what if 50 people show up for it? is he doing 50 runs? what if someone wants 2 runs= $20?

if a driver is willing to take someone for a ride thats nice, if the track wants to charge extra, then it should be split among those drivers providing a service (have a line, people get in the next available car). if a driver, like pat, doesnt want to give rides, they dont have to- if they only giving rides to friends and not to the 'paying customer' thats fine too. but if Marco, JLo, Dan, Rob, Fello, Camel... anyone... was willing to do so, why cant he make a few bucks too?

Every place charges for ride along

uhhhhhhhh, CFRC never has before. just had to be a caged car. before recent times, there was no requirement for a cage even.

its not a bad idea i guess, but its seems rather bleh that you would pick a specific driver only, and then its not even a florida regular guy. I know chelsea is/used to be FL, hell, he is a teammate through Nexen with me- but I think its odd. Its nothing against him personally- id feel the same if it was any one driver.

I don't really care, but I think this is a step in the akward direction. GL with the idea though.

I think compensating the drivers is silly. I thought this was a drifting community? You guys are veterans right? And you wanna make money of the little bros? They look up to you guys. I think it's fine that the track charges for ride-alongs.They gotta make money somehow to create more events. But for a driver to ask for some compensation is rather low. I could understand if your wasting more gas/tires/etc. County line charges for ride-alongs and not once have I heard a driver go, "bro, let me get some cash". Random people get in random cars and have fun. Isn't that why we go to events? I thought drifting was supposed to be fun.

if some kid comes up and is legit trying to learn, I'll take him for a ride. If its just some random trying to get a "thrill ride" Im a little less willing. If Im getting paid, thats fine.

Drivers are allowed to drive with other drivers because there is some gain of knowledge from riding shotgun with a better driver, that's why it's always been available.

Although at the same time, there is demand from people, non-drivers wanting ride-alongs, so instead of letting whatever driver, letting who ever they want in the car, we are for this event allowing ride-alongs with one driver, for anyone, as long as they are 18+ and sign the waiver and have a helmet.

Compensating the driver is to make up for extra tires, fuel, and etc that are used for the ride-alongs.

And like I mentioned earlier, if this works out, I'll be open to more caged drivers in the future, if you don't want to, then that's cool.

wait so if a person wants to ride along they pay 10 to get in and then 10 to ride along so $20 total? Is this a one time one event thing or is this going to be how ride alongs are from now on? cuz I thought anyone could ride with a caged driver who is willing as long as they have a helmet/ payed the $10 spectator fee.

I'm not even gunna be there cuz ill be in ATL but does this mean the other drivers will get less time to drive if there are multiple people that paid and are wanting to ride along? And is the $10 for one ride? or is that just $10 for as many rides as you want? because if its as many rides as you want i can see people getting pissed about not getting a fair/equal amount of rides/ driving time...

I hope you have the details worked out. Maybe you should post more specifications on here to clear the details up?

Not anyone, any driver can, that's how the rules have stood for months. If it goes well, we could be likely to do it again and possibly with more willing drivers.

Chelsea will be driving with group A, being that almost all of the regular group drivers will be in Atlanta, I highly doubt there will be any less time for any of the other drivers. It'll be $10 per ride.

Whoa whoa, so now if I want to have random people ride - that aren't drivers, they HAVE to pay 10$ extra?

Sorry if I sound like a douche, once again, its not personal towards Chelsea himself...
but this idea seems great for chelsea, and really perfect since he is coming for XDC next weekend, must be nice to be making some money back from practicing the course he is due to compete on, I know I would be bummed to make some money practicing on RoadAtl on Thursday. Makes total sense that in the last... oohhh... 8 months no one from FL was given this opp. I'm sure the SFL guys or even your 'there every event' guys would have liked to make some money.

look, I love CFRC and what you guys are helping do for FL drifting, but this isnt your best thought-out idea ever.

IMO, an 'event' every now and then and have it marketed as a pay/ride-a-long event is fine, but I dont think it should be during a normal practice event, or constrained to a single driver, or to a non-regular CFRC attendee. Yes a lot of "A grp" will be at Road Atlanta, and so you could have waited till next event for this idea to let one of you dedicated regulars 'test' out making money...

So was this CFRC's idea, or Chelsea's? or ??

Let's talk facts.
Chelsea is a fucking rad dood.
Cfrc is a sweet track.
This is a no brainer for Chelsea (already FD licensed btw) to go to Cfrc when we're all gone and just straight dial the track in.
Does it suck for us bros there every event that he's getting paid to take people for rides? Yes, of course.
Can anyone be mad at Chelsea? Fuck no.

Looking at this from a friend of chelsea's stand point.... Shit yeah bro, that's so sick.
Looking at it from a, local ripper stand point..... Kind of a bummer the track will do this for an out of towner, and not a local.

Let's honestly face it. I see no one beating Chelsea at xdc unless his car breaks, he crashes, or his windshield get shattered.

chelsea is a great driver no doubt. and yea i agree with this all. and said it had nothing to do with who was chosen, but treat it as 'someone else' that isnt from FL. except the last part i dont agree- i think several people could defeat him, just as much as he could beat them.

Yea I dunno. I feel like this is kinda unfair for people like Pat and Jlowe and all them who have been loyal to the track and have given ride alongs to people for free. I know most of them don't mind at all, but I do agree that when it comes to someone who isn't even a local/CFRC loyal person, why does he get this opportunity first? I hear Chelsea is a rad dude and I know hes an awesome driver, but out usual tandem drivers are awesome as well and to do this when most of them will be in ATL and can't take part and make a bit of money (which I'm sure would help them make it to the pro ams and represent) is a little unfair. Just my $.02...

Either way, I honestly don't know if many people will pay $10 per ride either. Seems a little steep.

I spoke with Steveo about it all. Its bad timing with the majority of A being at atlanta, and hopefully it works smoothly and people come out and interest builds around the track/sport at least.

How does this idea sound... Those who can do the corse without spining in on said run could loop around at the end and run in reverse. I think this would make drifting at cfrc alot better. Also $10 for 15-20 seconds of sidewaysness? Thats about $2,000 an hour lol!

SN: I had a dream that that big lake was filled in an had a badass road corse with banked turns!
