Broken Flywheel bolt removal.

So this is a worst case scenario situation, but it seems like my flywheel may have come off today. I hoping the bolts may off fallen out or the flywheel broke but how would one go about removing fully torqued flywheel bolts that have broken off?

maybe there just loose?? causing it to rattle/sound like its knocking. use loctite when u put the bolts in... only way to find out for shure is take the tranny out and see for your self. jst tryin to help

iv seen it happen its pretty rare and usually caused by loose bolts then eventually break. But then you would have had noise before hand. Removal is pretty straight forward try to use a pointed punch 1st and attempt to rotate the remaining bolt. They dont have tourque once brroken so as long as the thread in the crank is good the come right out. If not the you just drill and use extractors. Then maybe tap the threads to clean them up. I bet you have a broken input shaft rather than loose flywheel. More likely

no bill im 99% sure that flywheel fell off. The issue is that i was getting onto 95. i was near the top of third going into 4th and ended up missing 4th and hitting second. when i let the clutch out it began to over rev but i caught it at 7.5k. I drove from okee blvd to woolbright with no issues. as i exited at woolbright and began to slow down i heard knock knock and was like FUUUCCCK. So i stop at a friends house and it sounded pretty bad like rod knock. At this point no dummy light or high temps so seeing as i live like a minute from my friend's house i drove the car home. Three streets from my house motor revs straight up to 7 like a someone tapping the throttle on a bike and im no longer gaining speed. I let off gas and give it some gas again and same thing. At this point I have the feeling the flywheel has come off

does the car still start by the key? if so then its not the flywheel.

so i have a supected flywheel that has fallen off and ima try to crank it over? i don't think so. its the only thing that could make sense. think about it, when you rev the motor with the clutch disengaged, on a stock ka at least, it revs quick but never sounds like a bike. and the only things moving other than the motor internals and accessory pulleys are the flywheel and pressure plate. pressure plate falls off i would have no clutch pedal, and i have a clutch pedal. flywheel falls off and rotating mass decreases significantly causing the motor to rev up very quickly

You can put a car in gear in the air and rev it and rpms will rise like a mf real fast. Try cranking - if it is broken, worst case scenario is the starter cranks and nothing happens.

im sorry but that isnt the worst case scenario. i can see teeth getting broken off, damaged, chewed up, etc

so you were driving it while it happend and think that bumping the starter is gonna break it? take it apart then... no other way to know for sure.

shit just take off the starter and see if you can see the fly wheel there/try to wiggle it?

i bet your clutch disc disintegrated/broke from the harsh shift? my cousins clutch let go like that leaving a stop sign from poor driving before that (he was just learning stick)

no i doubt it. ive had a clutch disintegrate on me before and it was nothing like this. i dont have the dust cover on so ima get under the car tomorrow and see if i can wiggle the flywheel. the thing that suck is that i just put a new clutch and flywheel on saturday. I hoping that the bolts on the flywheel came loose but im pretty certain that i put them on tight after doing a criss cross pattern and double checking the bolts were tight.

id bump the starter no ?? asked. Its not gonna change anything

no i wouldnt. i have no clue on how the flywheel is sitting. ideally it would have slide forward some but id rather not risk it. its just as easy to get under the car and see if the flywheel wiggles

Why come on this forum asking for help/advice on something they answer and you say you won't do it? Why the fuck post in the first place?
