Truth about socialized medicine

Holy crap.
Well first of all, I'm going to answer no to actually being greedy. I'm a hard-worker who intends to deserve their nice paychecks when they graduate. I meant that in a sense to say that hey this program is hard as shit and I can't wait to get paid what I deserve when I get out, which should be more than a simple goverment worker. Stop picking apart my words for a dumb argument and your own satisfaction.

Also, if you want to talk about how everyone has their head in their ass, speak for yourself. Our health system is fucked right now, and adding government will NOT make it better. You said yourself that insurance companies and others for profit should not have their hands in healthcare. TELL ME WHEN THE GOVERMENT HAS NEVER BEEN FOR PROFIT. That's all they care about. I've seen people turned away or their stays cut dangerously short because of their insurance status. I guess you're one of those people who think we treat everyone equally in a hospital setting but we don't, and socialized medicine will make it so much worse.

There's a nice little program that exists in Florida called share of cost, where Medicaid patients have to reach a certain cost per month for the goverment to pay for their meds. These people will sit at their doctor's office and beg for meds, beg to be completely over prescribed just so the goverment will pick up their slack. Dangerously overprescribed, mind you, but if they don't meet their cost, they won't buy any meds at all and ignore even their maintenance meds. But hey that's a goverment program for ya.

The entire pharmaceutical field is all about money and they've had their hands in health care since the very beginning.

Get real, we're fucked and have been fucked for years.

You started a thread, with the intent to argue with people.
You always post off the wall bullshit political shit to argue with people.

Quit being a fucking political nerd, finish your car, and go drift race.

1- Was hoping to show people a system that works, & even added it cant work in USA national scale, needs to be state level.

2- I hardly post on this website

3- Ill be whatever I like thanks, and car runs and drives just fine thanks

Dont be afraid of the word greed, there is nothing wrong with wanting to earn a living and being able to save money and move up in the world.

So treating people equally would be better you say?? but then you are against social medicine??? I'm honestly not trying to be an asshole here man, just you need to understand the concepts better.

You yourself said our system is fucked. Yes it is, I agree, it's a horrible. Will regulation and socialization make it better?? On a national scale it would probably be a disaster. But Im at least offering other ideas. And despite all the bullshit media disinformation, most of western europe has healthier populations, longer life expectancy, and higher quality of living, so looking to their systems is the right place to start for inspiration. I UNDERSTAND THEIR SYSTEMS WONT WORK IN OUR COUNTRY OUTRIGHT.

So that's clearly a crap system, why isnt it canceled already??

If what you say is true, then look at it logically, it isn't that social healthcare doesn't work, it's that OUR GOVERNMENT DOESNT WORK. And cant properly serve its people. That actually makes much more sense. Especially considering that the very low corruption countries (scandinavia, AUS/NZ) have some of the best healthcare.

I guess since it relies on integrity and human decency it would never work here.

The country cannot afford the plan that's already been imposed and if you've ever seen it graphically, its laughable. I will never argue that the idea behind socialized medicine is sound, but in THIS country, our fucktarded and self righteous politicians are about guaranteed to ruin any positive attributes it may posses. IMO, we are going deeper into economic recession - judged by the decrease in housing purchases and number of jobless are rising, and I'm more worried about that right now. http://demint.senate.gov/public/_files/2010-07-28_JEC_ObamaCare_Chart.pdf

Opened that link before and forgot to check it out.

yea the system that's being imposed is so ludicrous it's amazing.

I really don't understand why they make it that complicated.

Here's how it should work.

You need healthcare? Are you a citizen? You see a doctor and you get it, free.

Want private insurance? You buy it and the healthcare dept. pays you what they would have covered for same treatment/care.

DONE.
No special terms other than being a citizen or legal resident.

Hell, in UK and Germany while on a visa, foreigners are required to carry their own insurance until they acquire citizenship or are legally employed and paying their taxes.

Why is it so hard for our leaders to make laws SIMPLE & LOGICAL?!?!?

Why is it so hard for our leaders to make laws SIMPLE & LOGICAL?!?!?

Well that's just it. IMO there are too many hands in the cookie jar, our country's political culture has simply lost all values, and the people of this country have become too trusting and idealistic. You mentioned Americans needing to wake up and take America back - I agree. Unfortunately I think something's going to have to give before "united we stand, united we fall" has meaning again.

I agree with Sean for the most part except I am personally against federal government involvement with health care in the US. But I do feel that it should be a local issue with what style of health care system is predominate. Since everyday citizens have much more control at a local level should they want to get involved. Leaving the federal gov to decide on anything with this broad of a scope is foolish.

The bills become so complex because every representative and senator wants to have their own little say in the bill or they say they wont vote for it so due to all of their own interests it becomes a huge compromise which will never solve the problem because nobody can agree on a real fix. Like Tony said way to many hands in the pot.

Even still I couldn't tell you what a decent solution would be as really I don't have any idea what would be a proper fix and with that said neither do about 98% of congress they are just either flat out talking out of their asses or they have a "advisor" meaning a lobbyist from the medical industry telling them what the best direction is often serving the special interests that will benefit the employer of that lobbyist.

And that is a real problem with the way congress does business, lobbying needs to be looked at hard and in my mind completely dismissed. But it won't be not so long as the majority of the congress engages and promotes it.

It's not man, it's miss.
So I'm sure my argument is water now huh?
And I do understand the concepts, I just don't agree with you.

Man; miss; doesn't matter.

'is water' ?? the phase is 'holds water', and you being a woman doesn't suddenly mean your argument holds water.

And judging from the contradictions and absurd logic in all you posts in this thread..... well heh...

Paul, I dont want it on a national level. Check out my first post where I mentioned Finland is a small country and that's why it works there.

A very simple broad system could work nationally IF our government could figure out how to run properly and end the corruption. But it could never get into action in the first place because of how twisted the fed is.

Yeah thats what I was getting at, I was just basically restating some of the things you said in my own way.

Get money, screw girls.....or however that saying goes...lol....I'm a good kid.

If you get sick you should just die, then there would be no need for healthcare and everyone living would be healthy....

Now let's get back to talking about this gut fucking, I wonder if my girl can do it to me, please explain in descriptive details.
