Opening a drift spot.

So ive been thinking very hard lately an im sure ill get knocked for this idea by some but i really dont care. my father is in the is in leasing of property. old building warehouses an thing like that. We have a building right now it is a old winn-dixie grocery store sittin empty and i came to my father with the idea of opening a drift venue. it would be a 3 acre parking lot it has some light poles islands and such so the possibilitys are endless for track layout an such.
The reason im typing all this is because before i commit to something this large i would like to have an idea of how many people i would aucutlly have come and slide. i was thinking 20$ per car 10$ spectator spectator's can also ride. i would have tandem for an additional 10$. but my thought is would people rather have just a huge skid pad with obsticals to mess around with or a course.

Please give me some of your ideas on this any info is great.
if you feel the need to flame thats fine.

The location is in manatee county about 2 miles west on 301 from I-75 very easy to find manatee county is exit 224.

Thanks
Tyler

i think therez more to it than jus sayin hey i wanna make this a drift spot!!!

Yes your correct there's permitting insurance sound ordnance theres alot to it but ive already got it covered im looking into what the turn out would be not the other details i have them under control.

1.Knock down the store to make more room.
2.Charge $20/hour to drift. It works very well at Adams Kart Track. Gotta make money for a business to work
3. Location....how far are you from FT. Laud/Miami Area. that would make a huge difference.
4. Track is needed. empty skid pads are fucking lame.
5. Track that can be changed for more advanced drivers would be a bonus
6. Insurance
7. Spectator seating.
8. Fences. you need spectators paying to see what drifting is all about.
9. Hot lapping.......you get this done and you'll have a good thing going.

y charge an extra $10 for tandem thats whats going to attract your spectators. watching one person after another most failing it up is extremely boring after the first 30mins

LMAO. Desoto is fun. Your Winn Dixie Idea just failed. Unless you make it sick as fuck .

Yeah but no drift events at Desoto lately :( New management and stuff. If it's financially possible, I'd say go for it, but I feel like rent for a Winn Dixie is probably a LOT of $$$. You'd prob get a few more drivers than Desoto events though because everyone is scared of banks/wall/tractor tires.

I heard RB26 Corollas move Tractor tires very well. NO walls is always a bonus.

Oh yea it is alot of money but there tons of room in the building for a shop an other things i figured this would get knocked but oh well. an this would be alot more room then alot of people are thinking.

Jeremy maybe you an dan could come check it out sometime give me ideas ?

You need to coordinate with people like Moe, and others for help with the track layouts/space and whatnot. They have more experience in organizing these events.
I wouldn't mind making it to these events! Hope everything goes well! More venues can't hurt at this point!

Moe is not needed that far from Miami. Moe is not a specialist on track layouts. This would not be an Event. This would be a small track thats has events. Sorry your contribution to the thread has been noted but is full of fail info. I think the Local's that drift the Desoto Events....you know who i mean. Should take a look at the lots size and compare it to the size of the Kart track that may be used in Miami.

I think Q.T Josh missed the "and others" part of my post.
It's alright tho bro, no one's perfect.

I was just saying if he really did need help he could call Moe, or other people that coordinate events down here for some insight. Not saying he should go on a full fledged "HEY YOU! MOE HELP ME DO EVERYTHING!"
