KA stalls at quick drop to idle

okay heres the problem. the runs and drives fine, except, when im at high rpms, and i hit the clutch to go to neutral and idle, the rpms drop, then the car stalls out. i noticed if im at low rpms, before i hit idle (1000-1500) itll do it sometimes, but not often. also i noticed when i tap the gas and let go, itll stay accelerated. like when getting into first or reverse how u play with throttle it stays accelerated for a few seconds after ive let off already.
my alternator belt is loose so it whines whenever my rpms go low enough, i dont think that has anything to do with it tho..

ideas ive came up with??

dirty mafs
tps
fuel pump

any help before i start taking this apart for the wrong diagnosis? thanks alot...
 
check the play on ur throttle cable, somehting like this happened to me once the cable was like bout to fall off the throttle
 
hmm. ive been googling alot, iacv seems like another possibilty. i couldnt find the proper way to clean it tho. every where i looks every one said "sea foam it" i found the hose that goes to the intake, so now do i sea foam it wit the car off, on cold, warm?
 
I wouldn't put that sea foam crap in my vehicle. Take off the AICV, clean with some throttle body cleaner. Put a new gasket on and check for any vacuum leaks.
 
it looks a bit hard to reach, do i have to remove the intake manifold? or would i be able to access everything with everything still on
 
i have the same problem wid my sr. i drive round 45, put into neutral and car shuts off but keeps going until i put it in gear again. i cleaned my iacv wid brakes cleaner and it still does it. i have new MAF and the tps is fine. im thinking about just to set the tps and leave it. it gunna run high idleing tho. your choice man. iacv are expensive.

there not expensive at all I have like 2 extra or you can just buy one off a partout or just buy a whole intake for 30. Bucks w/e they go for around here


And the icav is not hard to get to it's on the back side lower intake
if you haven't removed your egr stuff nows the time to
pull the whole Intake off and do it and clean the icav and remove the egr

You also can adjust the icav
my car did the same thing when I got it

Just pull the sand out the vag and get dirty and do it :bigthumbu
 
lol thanks roly.. but nah i got it figured out. i changed a couple hoses and it doesnt shut off no more..

which ones!!??? mine is doing it now never did it b4 the cams, and it depends on the day lol. one day it will continuously shut off. another day only in cold. and some days not at all.
 
i changed one of them around the iac and the one going from the valve cover to the intake. i know it isnt impotant but it looked ugly... any ways, its starting to do it again after a week.. fuck.
