Jerry, thanks a lot for that video. Gives a lot of insight on the length of that straight away after the first left. Didn't know it was that long. Was that a second gear entry by the way?

yes it was second gear, i probably should have been in third but i was still n/a back then on 315 rears, but because of my redline/tranny/gearing my 2nd gear at redline is roughly 72mph.

So for a KA-T guy like me I'm gonna have to hit the drift in 3rd and try to downshift it into second? Or heel toe it? Idk.. just looking for advice on how to approach the first left, thats the only thing that I find tricky at the moment. I don't know how I would approach it. (rodd I'd also like some of your insight since your ka)

id say at first try 2nd gear...dont go balls to the wall at the entry but have a decent pace and once you are about to enter get on it and hold it steady and try to keep your car in the right line. the layout is a bit tricky but its not that difficult

that first turn is long, i see a lot of guys ebrake to extend it, but if you have enough power or momentum you can carry it through.

If you go in to soft, you WILL fall short. Just feel it out in second a 250whp ka should have no problem linking it in second, then again for me the hardest part is since i have no ebrake is coming in full tilt hitting the first turn carring speed then slowing down for then next turn.

If you watch the video again pay attenting to the fact that on the first turn im on the limiter 80 percent of the way, then i go completly off throttle before i get into the second turn, and do get back on power till i pass the second turns clipping point.

Now this is in my car with no ebrake, and the car builds alot of speed because i run such big grippy tires, so even while drifting the car is accelearating quite a bit.

jerry should be there wih the supra....correct me if im wrong side-run? and speaking of which i dont see any side-run names on there except for randy. where is carlos(vert-slider) and all the guys that are normally at the skidpad every time?? what is going on here

Ok so his name is Jerry with the supra. A friend of mine is going to spectate for the first time and he has a supra, I been trying to convince him to drift but I guess he's too scared of fuking something up on his car. And were you asking me if I was someone from Side-Run?

i just noticed i got we got 1 more weekend left, ima change my oil n studs this saturday and i should be rdy to go

Gotta change my oil and replace a radiator and get a used tire im riding on one dougnut right now..so im gonna go broke but I know it will be worth it. Well hopefully within this week left we meet the required pre-registers.

~290hp :D
Yeah I guess that'll be the plan.. I'll just feel it out in second untill I get the hang of it. Fink was telling me about the ebrake and extensions earlier I guess I'll put it to use. I appreciate the help and insight on the layout Jerry/Rodd. Thanks a lot for the help!

I just was curious, what are the other options vs. doing a slow second gear entry though. I don't think the layout is made for 3rd gear after the entry, since it looks like a 25mph drift on the second left.

i think since ur on boost u should be fine in 3rd, my first time i tryed in 2nd n it wasn't working out forme, it would just straighten out before the second turn, so i started to enter in third a clutch kick at the cone(clipping point) they had there and then downshift to 2nd on the second turn, n just stay in second the rest of the way.

any ways try different styles n see which one u like and the the most comfortable with

Yeah that's a tip a few people have told me so far.. Initiate in 3rd and then downshift it to second on the second left..

Thanks for the insight. Also I have to thank you guys for making me more confident about running the layout.
You'll see me on the list by this weekend if anything!

for a car thats n/a i would say start in second specially if you just starting out and its the first time on the track, n then maybe through out the day try it in third if u feel comfortable,
but ya man def do a ride along with some one, ill take u if u want, but try to ride with rodd since he is also n/a

r we gonna be allowed to tandem let on in the day if were doing good??

i really wanna start drifting consistently like i used to n i think tandem would help me improve alot

if I make it im definitly gonna stick to 2nd gear for a little to learn im not gonna try and man up right away and attempt 3rd gear entries.

im gonna have to do clutch kicking to initiate my entries because my ebrake blowsssss, doesnt even lock up the rear wheels

you should be fine in 2nd lol

I got some half used 265/35/18s for 45.00 if any one needs
