Dear The fish/any ls1dood with FD hopes

There's more than a few FD cars with swapped rear subframes. Since theres no approved parts list for any car models, no one can really say who is following the rules. Once you pass their tech, there's not much anyone can say.

Are you serious? It states right in the rules no modified rear subframes.

im just gonna go cheap and get a crate bugatti motor, maybe throw a some ferrari muffler bearings and use a integra subframe because I like the word integra. oh yea, im also going to build the chassis so the 'front' is where the rear really is, making it 100% rear wheel steering and still rear wheel drive.

who here is doing fd

me

and me again bc with this set-up got me into FD bawahahahahahahaha

a lot of ppl would do FD if they stopped dicking over the east coast and make pro-am finals all the way on the other side of the country

Yep, besides the Scions, O'Sullivan's STI has a Silvia subframe. I know there's more.

You also aren't supposed to modify to firewall but if you look at Tanner Foust's car his motor is recessed like crazy. But if you have a huge sponsor and lots of money invested in the motorsport then I am pretty sure you can get whatever you want in FD.

i know there isnt any D1 street legals in AMERICA but thats where its at.... FD kinda sounds like tball... where the more the parents (sponsors) pay, the longer their kids (drivers) stay. so in the end you have all these big ass kids (scions with nascar motors) on one team and all the little guys (people like us) have nowhere to go!

you have to petion the shit out of them to get the car legal to compete

y'all remember that one time last year when a turbo 4 cyl got like 2nd in year end points in FD? Also, Tanner is his gay ass scion did worse than he did previously with a way more stock 350z.

Also, they shouldn't allow modifying sub frames at all. You want an Ls1?? Drive a camaro.

You want a pushrod Toyota v8?? Drive an imaginary car.

Just sayin. Kinda j/k

Cars getting out of control loses the connection between the fans and the sport.

I have to disagree with this statement. Look at nascar, the cars on the track have absolutly nothing to do with the cars on the street. Just the emblems.

And you are not gonna find a more loyal group of fans then nascar fans.

the only way to settle this is to have classes with limits. there could be one of unlimited where anyone 'could' enter if they wanted to go against the high budget, or stay in the lower class or 2.

suspension rules in each could be made also.

or we can just realize that life is unfair and the best feeling is winning despite that.

Well I disagree with your statement.

Look at the amount/loyalty of Nascar fans compared to that of say Formula 1, IRL, prototype or any other type of racing that involves a car that doesn't really resemble the common car, and get back to me on that. I think it matters a lot.

yeah but jerry, drifting is a whole other animal... drifting is still a relatively new sport, and is very pure to its roots.... nascar has evolved over the years, and now everyone has the same template with 2 different engine packages to choose from, the only difference in cars in nascar is the setups... where as drifting your car is an extension of your personality... from the choice of engine all the way down to the choice of valve stem color.... my 2 cents.

drifting will never go down the same road as nascar... if it does that is when we will lose the essence of DRIFTING!

thats easy.... outside of the usa all those types series are popular.. just not here

Ive heard this same argument countlless countless times, not about drifting but everytime something goes from underground to mainstream aka FADS, people are always up in arms lol.

There will be a time when there are no more drift series, it will all be underground again, at least in the usa.

look at import dragracing today compared to what it was 5 years ago.
