Charlotte County Drift Event - Jan 3, 2010

Mylife fucking fails big time!! Im ready to shoot myself in the face right now.
Heres what kind of shit happened yesterday.
1 tire sponsor didnt order tires for me like i we had discussed. So i run to the shop and of my half dead used crap tires and figure i should have enough to compete and practice a little. SOLVED
2 Guy that was loaning me his truck with the brake controller setup and everthing. He calls and says he broke the key off in his daily so i cant borrow the truck. So i was like wtf fuck it il drive there. SOLVED
3 Then last night im driving the car to the bar to get some drinks and i punch it in second and the fucking clutch starts slipping like a mother. So i run to the shop and see if i have any sr clutch discs that would wrk and i dont!! FAIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLL
So to make the story short im pissed and not going anymore. FUCK MY LIFE DAMMIT

And to top it off now i get to go to church

well after your potty mouth rant i think you need to be in church.....sinner

I just came back from the event (a little early, because I gotta work tonight and need the sleep), and I gotta say, Bert is fucking nasty out there. I only saw 1 run from Jeremy Lowe and Dan Chilton, but they seemed like they were doing work too.

Oh man, I needed to see this today, because I am dying to drift again.

congrats bert on the first place, and J-lo on second, dan on third...it was a good event toooo cold lol...

Just got back to Ocala, definitly the funnest drift time I ever had, that place is awesome! It was really cool meeting all you guys. Can't wait for the next one!

whoever the kid was that ran dead last owned all... game over...

LOL dude had 185s on the back of an rb car. Dumbest thing ever. Dude has potential, along with a lot of other people there, but people need to get their shit set up halfway right. Brett and the dude in the black kouki both have stock n/a kas and were having no problems on the bank on 225s.

thats why we need tandem competition. 185s will be so slow itll be obvious.

haha, well i watched the bucs get RIPPED OFF by the refs in person so i couldnt be there... im not going to say we woulda won, but we woulda had like 3 more redzone possessions than we did.

oh yeah, congrats Bert. Definitely a fun competition even though it was freezing cold. Charlotte is a good place for competitions like these.

+1, very well said!

and on that note I will say that I notice that some of the drivers yesterday seemed like they had a bit more talent that they showed but the car setup was holding them back, like a car that I saw was to low for the 18" tall tire that it had and it kept rubbing on the chassis making him spin every other run, or another driver had his car slammed and it looked super stiff front N rear with what looked like a ATV tire upfront, and another car that was using a tire with a tall sidewall that just made the car look like it handle sloppy.
for these guys and some that I didnt mention, try to ask the more advance guys about different setups. and try different things, some racing setups actually work for some drifters... you just have to try.

the event was AWESOME! it was a bit too cold for me but overall it was fun.
another problem that I saw yesterday was that some guys were tooooo badass to not try the infield part in practice and sadly they weren't that badass when it was competition time.
I did see some drivers improve throughout the day, props to them and hopefully they can make it to the next event.

congrats to the WIENERS... I mean WINNERS!
they displayed great skill and gave us a great show.

hope to see u guys next event... and props to the guys from the FL Keys for making the drive. Keep the love of the sport alive!

yea thanks for the advice yesterday Juan. But it was too cold to try and raise all four corners.. I barely had enough time to get another set of tires put on before the judged runs started.. I'll be getting some PBM toe rods today so ill be able to finnaly pull that rear camber out with out having lots of toe out.. and ill try and fix some of my rubbing problems when i get an alignment.

but other than that i had alot of fun and im pretty happy that I finished the course pretty clean on my second judged run.. I need more practice. SOOO whens the next Charlotte County event?
